Expanding its retail presence, the Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana is taking its iconic designs to a line of fridges.
In a recent collaboration with Italian manufacturer of upmarket domestic appliances Smeg; the fashion house will produce 100 limited edition FAB28 refrigerators. The USP of these fridges is that they have all been hand-painted by artists commissioned by the fashion brand.
Commenting on the agreement, designer Domenico Dolce said, “Every piece is unique, but they all tell a story consistent with our brand identity,” reported Vogue.
Emphasising on the fridges that all set to be the next 'it' thing, Dolce added, “They might be kitchen appliances, but there’s something that is immediately identifiable as Dolce & Gabbana, from the Sicilian barrows to the Trinacria symbol to the marionettes to the Italian lemons and fruits.”
The collection will make its debut on April 14th during Salone del Mobile in Milan, with prices starting from € 30,000 or $ 34,140.
