YouTube and Instagram character Shopkeepa……Haanji Bhenji has marked its Brand Licensing 2015 debut this year with agent Bradford License India.
Brainchild of actor and stand-up comedian Gaurav Gera, ‘Shopkeepa……Haanji Bhenji’ is now a hit sensation with series airing on BIG MAGIC and 92.7 Big fm and close to 19,500 subscribers and fan following of 167 thousand.
Of late, Gera has initiated licensing program for ‘Shopkeepa……Haanji Bhenji’ with Postergully for merchandise and Bobble for mobile application. This is the first time, a YouTube character has gotten into licensing and brand merchandising.
Explaining about the merchandise, which is very quirky, Gera said, "I know videos are viral but I don’t want to assume that the whole world knows about it. So, the merchandise has to be so attractive that somebody who doesn’t know should also pick it."
"The merchandise should be attractive, bright, it should make sense. It can’t be absolute dud humour and it has to have my flavor," he further added.
Bradford License India, the licensing arm of Bradford Licensing LLC, is the official licensing agent for Shopkeepa……Haanji Bhenji. Commenting on the role of Bradford in taking the brand forward, Gera said, "Bradford is an expert and they know the job pretty well. I think I have come to the right place who understands the things better and I think they will know how to take it further and might give me some important suggestions which will be better for brands.
