An eye-catching amalgamation of adventure and aesthetics
Riding down the memory lane at Ciclo Café
A fusion of passion and rejuvenating ambience is what the unique Ciclo café is all about !
Located in Kotturpuram Chennai, the cafe's enchanting display and design enlivens the adventure and love for cycles, from chandeliers to sitting arrangement, everything in the outlet is inspired by the life of cyclists.
This aesthetically appealing café’s design concept was co-created by the promoters TI Cycles and Absolute Specialty, executed and fine-tuned by Arvind and Varuna Associates, a leading Chennai design house.
Although the concept of cyclist-friendly cafés isn't new to the world, while many countries in Europe and America have cafés that revolve around a cycling lifestyle, the concept is still very fresh in a country like India.
Comfortable couches, long functional tables for big groups, and converted cycle frames and saddles makes the experience much more interesting. What’s more, the café is decorated with some nice cycling memorabilia, books and photos.
Expressing views on the cafe's design display, KC Ramamoorthy, Vice President, TI Cycles of India said, “The store design has been done keeping cycling elements in mind and to remind customers that this is a cycling theme café. We have tables, props, wall displays, chandeliers, furniture fixtures, clocks fashioned from cycling components that makes the interiors lively. Apart from the café, we also have a dedicated sales and service section of the store which sells bicycles.”

Moreover, the lighting of the café adds on to the beauty of the store, and maintains a balance between focus and general lighting; keeping in mind the focus products and also the privacy of dining customers. Besides, the flooring of the store has a mix of wooden tiles and old classical tiles along with a mixture of granite trims and skirting’s.
On being asked about the café’s design theme, Ramamoorthy added, “The store theme was to bring out the joy of cycling and connect us back to our nostalgic memory of riding a bicycle with wind in our hair. All elements here are linked to cycles.”
In a nutshell, it can be said that the store breathes on bicycles and is a true place for bicycle aficionados, and has a fair sprinkling of marquee bikes, bicycle memorabilia and much more.
