Multinational automobile manufacturer, Mahindra & Mahindra has recently joined forces with the online shopping giant Flipkart, automotive micro-site CarNbike.com and its in-house online portal M2all to sell its small SUV ‘KUV100’.
With this move, Mahindra eyes to target the youth and first time car buyers of the country for KUV100 through popular online shopping marketplaces of the country.
Earlier the company tied-up with Snapdeal for its Scorpio cars which got more than 3 million hits and sold about 100 units online.
This time the booking of KUV100 will start only after the launch of the vehicle.
Commenting on the same, Veejay Ram Nakra, VP- Sales & Customer Care, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra, said, "The entire ecommerce landscape has changed in a very big way in the past two years. The online traffic is not metro centric anymore, e-commerce data shows that it is an all India phenomenon, given the KUV 100 is a mass product.”
Domestic eRetail giant Flipkat had launch its automobile category last month which offers a wide array of automotive accessories and aims at becoming a one-stop destination for automotive needs.
Flipkart will open online bookings for KUV100 from mid-night of January 18, 2016.
Online today is a must have strategy for all players to respond to the growing demand of their customers who are .spread across different cities and towns in the country,” said Anil Goteti, VP - Business at Flipkart.
"First time in the automobile category, this exclusive tie-up will allow Mahindra to access Flipkart's extensive reach and network," said Goteti.
Buyers can go to the site, choose the city and dealer and the query will be passed on to the dealer. He will arrange for all the paper works and will conclude the transaction online.
The KUV100 will be available in 7 exciting colors of Fiery Orange, Flamboyant Red, Dazzling Silver, Aquamarine, Pearl White, Designer Grey and Midnight Black.
