OnePlus smartphones, which came as a disruption in the smartphone industry, is now all set to roll out its next flagship smartphone ‘OnePlus 3’. The brand, especially known for its ‘value-for-money’ handsets and a unique invite system, grabbed headlines when it came up with its first ever smartphone in 2014. Since then, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has launched three models and all of them trigged a phenomenal fizzle in the market. OnePlus smartphones are acknowledged for their cutting-end specification at a modest asking price and in a market known for its price sensitivity it has always been a deal worth grabbing.
Preceding the success of its all three models, the company now aims at a bigger grab with its upcoming model. Many assumptions, over the past few weeks suggest that the forthcoming OnePlus model will be company’s most impressive offering till date. The latest model will be made available for purchase at 12:30 PM EDT/ 9:30AM PDT on Tuesday, June 14th. All we know for certain is that the phone will only be available for purchase through OnePlus’s VR experience on the 14th. After that, the sale will happen on the OnePlus website, which is where previous models have been sold.
So, now is the time for all those smartphone fanatics to fasten their seatbelts and scrutinise about its features, pricing and look. Retailer Media brings to you some noteworthy snippets related to the launch of OnePlus 3 smartphone:
Worried about OnePlus Invite? You won’t need it anymore!
OnePlus is known for its exclusivity as the handsets have been only available for those who have managed to acquire invitation to make a purchase but, this time breaking the monotony, the company has waved off the invite mechanism to make it available for anyone and everyone. Not just this, the forum of the website says that invites are gone forever from future OnePlus product launches. Now, that’s ‘helluva’ deal right there!
Like all of OnePlus’s previous models, this one too is a hell of an offer. How about a wide 5.5-inch AMOLED full HD display with a Snapdragon 820 processor? Well that’s not it, showoff continues with a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space. A 16-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front camera with 3,000 mAh battery and OnePlus’s custom version of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. What else could you ask for?
The VR Headset ‘Loop’
The company has recently launched its VR headset called ‘Loop’ which will ship to first 30,000 people who signed up for one from 6 June. The Loop headsets were given for free, except for shipping costs, and the company said one of the reasons for the promotion was that it will be hosting the OnePlus3 launch in VR as well as providing the option to pre-order the new device from within the virtual world.
Basis of its earlier pricing strategy, OnePlus 3 is estimated to be priced somewhere in the bracket of Rs 21,000 to Rs 25,000. The starting range could cost somewhere around 21,000 and could go upto 25,000 for high-end variants.
