Soon after raising $15 million from Peepul Capital, fashion jewellery brand Voylla has roped actor Kangana Ranaut in a year-long promotion for the brand. With this, can be seen, a new trend of bollywood names being on-boarded as brand ambassadors by retailers and eRetailers in the country. Amir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have recently tied up wih Snapdeal and Big Basket respectively for brand promotion.
This is a part of aggressive marketing being done by the online-first brand founded in 2011 which will target non-digital medium through outdoor, print and radio aggressively. Reportedly, Bates CHI &Partners has been given the mandate for promotions, at an estimated budget of Rs 40 to 60 crore with specific campaigns targeting the Southern market.
"Our aim is to ramp up the number of our shop-in-shop outlets which will double up as an omni-channel outlet. As each store can hardly stock the range of inventory, buyers can choose from online store at the kiosks," said Vishwas Shringi, Founder and CEO of the Jaipur-based company which currently has three physical stores in Bangalore, Nagpur and Pune and plans to ramp up the numbers with the recent round of funding.
