The textile conglomerate Sangam (India) Ltd. has ventured into women branded apparel segment by launching its own brand called Channel Nine for the new age women.

Sangam (India) Limited, the leading textile conglomerate of the country, has forayed into women’s branded apparel segment by launching its own brand called Channel Nine.The brand offers exquisite range of seamless garments for women including intimate wear, active wear, yoga wear, shape wear and casual wear.

“Channel Nine brand symbolizes the multiple facets of a woman’s life - the spaces she navigates every day and the forms in which she expresses herself. It encompasses the essence of what it means to be a woman through a myriad of roles, which she performs, in her everyday life. Channel Nine is featured with maintaining international standards in design, quality and comfort for the targeted age group of 15 to 35 years old while offering these innovative garments in the price range of Rs 300 to Rs 2000.

For this retail foray, Sangam India is venturing into the seamless garmenting segment. We are in the process of achieving manufacturing volumes of 3.6 million units. Our capacity expansion plans have become a reality and propelled us to foray into new product segments. Through Channel Nine, we intend to make aggressive inroads into the domestic lingerie retail market estimated to be approximately Rs 15,000 crore now and growing at a CAGR of 20 to 25 percent. The brand will be available pan India through the group’s vast distribution network including national retail chains, multi brand outlets and exclusive brand outlets (EBOs) and online digital platforms including its very own e-Commerce website Initially it will be will be retailed through 500 MBO’s across the country while being supplied to 10-15 EBOs - the company is planning to open by the end of the current fiscal. For online presence the brand is currently in talk with leading online market places like eBay, Flipkart, Fashionara and Shopclues. Soon the brand will be launching its mobile app.

Sangam has installed 36 circular knitting machines imported from Italy, the world leader in seamless knitting technology, and has an installed capacity to manufacture 10,000 pieces of seamless garment a day. While planning to venture into swimwear category ahead the brand is targeting to earn Rs 60 to Rs 70 cr of turnover in the current fiscal.
