Walmart's expansion plans: to sign 3 MoUs with Telangana govt

In order to strengthen its foothold in the state, American retail conglomerate Walmart is in talks with Telangana government to sign 3 pacts to open more of its retail touchpoints.

On the same, Chief Executive of Walmart, Latin America Enrique Ostale met K T Rama Rao who is the Minister of IT and Panchayat Raj, Telangana.

If all goes as per planned, Walmart will sign MoUs which include plans like encouraging women in the state by offering them jobs in grocery stores, the state-run horticulture corporation supplying fruits and vegetables to the company and maintenance of 'Krishi Marts' set up by the state government.

These MoUs are expected to be signed by the end of this month, the release added.

Meanwhile, Norway's Ambassador to India Nils Ragnar Kamsvag also met Rama Rao today and discussed possibilities for cooperation, it was stated.
