In a recent study organised by one of country’s biggest eRetailer Amazon India, Bangaluru has emerged as one of the most health conscious city. The study was based on consumer’s online purchase behaviour it had observed for health and personal care and sports and fitness products and services over the last one year.
The study also revealed that tier 2 and tier 3 cities are exponentially adopting health consciousness measures. Ambala came in at the 6th position. Chandigarh, Vijayawada, Jaipur, Ajmer and Vadodara are the other tier 2 cities that have witnessed above average growth in the health and fitness categories.
Bengaluru has also topped as the city most enthusiastic about sports, with maximum sales of sports the city. While the city consumers bought badminton products more than any other sports, Mumbai favoured football. Delhi consumers also bought badminton-related goods the most.
Kolkata that was always considered as to be most crazy city about football has seen the maximum demand for cricket equipment. The e-commerce firm also saw a growing demand for activity trackers, indicating that there is a substantial increase in health and fitness awareness.
