Flipkart, who was recently making rounds in media as the market was speculating that the company is about to shell off 800 employees, has came out strongly and refuted the news. Earlier, many media house had reported that one of India’s leading online market place is on the move to sack almost 800 employees. These reports were backed up by some of the sources who were closely involved with the laying off procedure.
Flipkart has strongly rebutted the news and Nitin Seth, Chief Administrative Officer, Flipkart stated that company completely and unequivocally deny any such move from Flipkart. He stretched further that company has no plans for any layoffs in the coming months as reported.
There are no planned layoff exercise in any team including technology and corporate team. Company’s hiring plans are in line with the business goals and it is continuing to hire rich talent in its key strategic areas of focus, adds Seth
Earlier in July, one of the renowned daily had reported that company had chalked down a lay off plan for its underperform employees. And it also stated that Flipkart had opted for the process in order to make the organization a lean company so that it can churn up maximum amount of profit.
In August, India's most valuable tech company Flipkart had changed its top management structure again, putting two key business units under the control of Kalyan Krishnamurthy, a senior executive from Tiger Global. This was the third major re-organisation at Flipkart this year.
