Finally it’s out! After a long hullabaloo of ex- Googler Punit Soni, a premium Silicon Valley hires for Flipkart, planning to part ways from the company has finally called it a day. Soni was the Chief Product Officer for the domestic eRetailer and was heading the product development for both Flipkart and Myntra.

Punit was responsible for significantly enhancing the product design capability and hiring a robust tech team.

The move comes months after top level management reshuffle at Flipkart that made Binny Bansal the CEO and Sachin Bansal, the Group Chairman. It is expected that after this rejig Soni was left with not-to-settled role which further ignited his resignation.

Soni while at Google was responsible for managing and launching products such as mobile apps for the search giant and Moto G for Motorola Mobility. He was being paid around $1 million yearly in fixed salary and spearheaded Flipkart and Myntra’s app-only initiatives.

The exit of Soni comes months after Flipkart's commerce platform head and Myntra’s Founder Mukesh Bansal and Chief Business Officer Ankit Nagori quit the firm earlier this year.
