Godrej Group’s food retail arm, “Nature’s Basket” ties up with Amazon. The company will use Amazon’s platform to sell its food products through the eCommerce platform in India.
In a recent acquisition, Godrej Group took over Ekstop.com, an online groceries shop and merged its platform to expand its online delivery and web presence. The brand also offers same day delivery of food in selected cities as of now.
Few months back, Godrej Group also partnered with eCommerce giant, Snapdeal and made around 700 of its products available online.Speaking on the same, Mohit Khattar, MD, Godrej Nature’s Basket, said, that the tie up is an effort to increase the brand’s connect with discerning customers across the country and making available the choicest products for their consumption.
As per the report by consultancy Bain and Co and Google Inc. in the coming 5 years, the Internet will influence one-third of the total sales in the consumer packaged goods sector.
Godrej had started retailing through its website two years ago. It sells a wide range of gourmet products, including fruits, vegetables, cheese, cold cuts, bakery products, ice-creams, party snacks and patisserie.
