It has been scarcely a month after Mukesh Bansal along with Ankit Nagori decided to call it a day from eCommerce major Flipkart have now joined hands to come up with a new venture in healthcare and fitness space. Bansal, Co-founder of online fashion portal Myntra and Nagori, former Chief Business Officer of Flipkart are now planning to launch their own fitness firm.
The venture is likely to ignite with an investment of $5 million (33 crore) and will be based out of Bengaluru. It will have 2 brands- one for healthcare and the other for sports and fitness. Sharing his excitement about the same, Bansal says that the idea is to inspire 100 million people to take health and fitness measures. The company is also looking to rope in global leaders in sports and fitness brands such as Myntra, Puma and Decathlon.
The dynamic duo is working together to come up with a concrete plan to aggregate the estimated $300 million healthcare market leveraging technology and analytics. As per Nagori, the company would not look seek external funding at this preliminary stage but, the lucrative industry will surely attract investor’s interest.
The news comes as a surprise as while leaving Flipkart, Bansal said that he would take a pause from work and will spend time with his family and travel. Though healthcare industry is growing at a very decent pace at the moment but, entry of these two eCommerce masterminds will surely stir the current velocity. Now, the question is, will Bansal and Nagori be able to redo the same what they did at Flipkart?
Nagori and Bansal took an absurd exit from Flipkart weeks after a top level reshuffle that made Co-Founders Binny Bansal, the CEO and Sachin Basal, the Group Chairman.
