Snapdeal.com, is set to hire Anup Vikal, the current chief financial officer (CFO) of mobile network operator Aircel, as its new finance head.

Sources familiar with the developments said Vikal could join Snapdeal in October. In a response to queries sent by ET, Snapdeal stated this is speculation. "We do not comment on speculations," a Snapdeal spokesperson stated. Separately, an email to Vikal went unanswered.
"Vikal has well rounded expertise across operations and strategic finance, and has good experience of working with entrepreneurs," said a source on condition of anonymity.
Vikal will replace Aakash Moondhra, who quit as CFO of Snapdeal in April. Moondhra had played a critical role in Snapdeal garnering over $1 billion in funding from a host of marquee investors, including Japanese telecom, media and internet investor giant SoftBank, BlackRock, Singapore's Temasek and PremjiInvest, the private investment arm of Wipro's Azim Premji.
In June, the company named Bharti Airtel senior executive Anand Chandrasekaran as chief product officerand Govind Rajan, also from Bharti Airtel, as chief strategy officer.
Vikal is also an old Airtel hand. Prior to joining Aircel, Vikal was group CFO and head of IT and strategy at Inter-Globe Enterprises. A bachelor of mechanical engineering from NIT Surat he served as finance head in Bharti Airtel.
