Tata CLiQ , the eCommerce platform from the Tata Group has announced an exclusive partnership with Genesis Luxury Fashion to sell international luxury brands through the portal.
The marketplace, slated to open on May 27, eyes to become the only authorised partner to offer luxury brands that are a part of the Genesis Luxury portfolio.
Tata CLiQ said some of the international brands entering India for the first time through Genesis Luxury will debut their autumn/winter collection in India on the portal.
"Our partnership with Genesis Luxury will give us the opportunity to offer exclusive and first-hand luxury experience to online consumers," said Ashutosh Pandey, chief executive of Tata CLiQ.
"At the Tata Group we have seen a strong track record of understanding and catering to consumers looking for a luxury experience. We are confident that this alliance with Genesis will be long-term strategic in nature and help broaden our luxury presence with the online segment," Pandey added.
Pandey said Tata CLiQ will offer over 15 luxury brands, out of which several will be entering India for the first time.
"Together, Genesis and Tata CLiQ are also targeting a number of luxury brands that are not present in India or a part of genesis portfolio. These will be launched over a period of time on Tata CliQ," he said.
Nikhil Mehra, CEO of Genesis Group, added: "This partnership reaffirms our commitment to deliver value at par with the brands international standards. It will also enable us to expand our presence to cater to our growing affluent consumer market through the vast online network of Tata CLiQ."
According to Euromonitor International, the Indian luxury goods market is expected to touch Rs 39,000 crore by 2020 from Rs 16,300 crore in 2015, registering an annual growth of 19 per cent.
