Flipkart owned fashion marketplace, Myntra, is all set to re-launch its mobile website which was shut down on May 15, 2015. Some segments of the website are currently active for the users which include catalogs for sarees and shirts etc. The homepage on the website is still linked with its app and hence it seems like the catalog is being populated online.
Myntra is currently making its catalog live on the mobile web but the purchases has to be done via its app. Flipkart has too, re-launched its mobile website and goods purchase can be done on mobile browsers.
This move clearly indicates that the eCommerce giant has realised that the issues related to app-only strategy which were pointed out by many still persists. Shopping is not a priority for everyone and having option to shop only from mobile along with getting instant notifications with no choice of shutting it off from within the app can be annoying at times and might lead to uninstalling of the app.
