Askmebazaar.com has launched their next-day delivery (NDD) service in Kolkata.
Askmebazaar.com has launched their next-day delivery (NDD) service in Kolkata. It is the third city after Nagpur and Jaipur in the country and the first among the metro cities to receive this service.
The NDD is a new subsection of the parent company that would deliver products to a consumer's house in a day, that too without any cost.
The company has roped in five channel partners who would serve as the logistic arm of the company along side 70 stores in the city that would help meet the requirement of the customers.
In this decade, the e-commerce and online market is gradually booming in the country and currently India is one of the largest online markets in the world. The e-commerce market currently has around 49 million people using online services and it is expected to rise to 170 million by next year.
"Our model is slightly different from other e-commerce giants. We plan to list only the products that are locally available with our sellers. Now, according to the transaction numbers, we stand at the fourth position in the country," said Marichi Mathur, head (NDD) at AskmeBazaar.com.
The company aims to expand their services across 50 other cities in India giving this model a new shape and direction. Askmebazaar has joined hands with retail stores like Great Eastern, World of technology, Korel Systems, Roltranex Gallary and many such other stores in Kolkata.
The minimum cap for getting the next day delivery is fixed at Rs 1,000. It would be chargeable below that. The delivery of products would be limited within the boundaries of Kolkata. Delivery to suburban Kolkata is yet to be decided, said a company official.
