Crocs India has roped in Deepak Chhabra as its new Managing Director, he will be joining the team from 12 September, 2016. Chhabra, who has almost 20 years of experience in retail, distribution, buying, merchandising and brand management, will now take his new role and will be responsible to explore new business horizons in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Maldives.
His focus will be on driving strategic initiatives to deliver superior brand and customer experience. Meanwhile, the current MD of the company, Nissan Joseph, after rendering his services to the Indian domain for three years, will now join the Crocs Korea team as its new MD.
A veteran of the footwear and sportswear industry, Chhabra has held various leadership positions on marquee brands including Reliance, Sketchers, Asics, Nike, Tag Heuer and Sprandi, working extensively across several markets in India.
After serving as Vice President of Reliance Retail for almost a decade, Chhabra has switched over to Crocs India to scout for new opportunities. With his work station located at Bangalore, Chhabra used to spearhead the expansion of Reliance Retail’s operations to over250 stores across 110 cities.
Shedding some light on his new role, Chhabra stated that he is very excited at the opportunity to work with the Crocs team and looks forward to develop the brand further. He hopes to contribute to its growth story in this fast-changing consumer and retail environment.
