Leading online retailer, Flipkart has made an announcement about two new board members to its leadership positions. The brand has released a press note to introduce its new team members.
Rishi Vasudev, whose last stint being the CEO of Calvin Klein India, has joined the online giant as the new Vice President- Fashion (Retail), bringing his over 15 years of experience in the fashion and retail industry.
Starting career with the Aditya Birla Group, Vasudev has worked with big brands like Louis Philippe and Arvind Brands, where he led the end-to-end makeover for brands like Arrow, Gant and Izod.
Talking about the team re-shuffle, Mukesh Bansal, Head, Fashion, Flipkart said, “Fashion is very strategic to us and we have seen tremendous growth in the category this year. We are continuously expanding our selection and experience for the lifestyle category. To drive this agenda forward, we are very excited to have Rishi joining our team.”
Interestingly, the second new member of the Flipkart team, Parameswaran Balakrishnan would take over the position of Vice President- HR for supply chain category. He will driving all business partnering, talent acquisition and functional L&D for supply chain at the firm.
Balakrishnan has over two decades of experience with big organisations like Toyota and Tata Motors.
Highlighting both the new joinee as an asset to the company, Mekin Maheshwari, CPO, Flipkart said, "These new additions to Flipkart's leadership team show the importance we place on identifying and securing the best talent available. We are quite excited to have Param joining us."
