Online food ordering service company, FoodPanda, has appointed Himanshu Ratnoo as its first head of delivery across the country.

Online food ordering service company, FoodPanda, has appointed Himanshu Ratnoo as its first head of delivery across the country.
Ratnoo, an IIM Calcutta alumnus, started his career with the Aditya Birla Group in 2011.
 
Foodpanda recently raised $100 million from Goldman Sachs and existing investors including Rocket Internet. Most of the funds will be used to build its delivery and technology operations across its 40 markets including India.
 
"India is the largest market for the company and efforts are on to make it even larger by building a robust delivery chain and strong technology capabilities," said FoodPanda's India CEO and chief business officer for the company' global operations, Saurabh Kochhar.
Currently, the company in India already has 600 people in its delivery fleet and intends to stretch this to about 3000 over next year. "Delivery will be a huge function within Foodpanda in India in the years to come," adds Kochhar.
Ratnoo's last appointment was as a consultant at Rocket Internet-Lazada Group based out of Singapore.
 
Overall, FoodPanda has raised over $310 million till date, which includes $60 million from a group of investors including Falcon Edge Capital and Rocket Internet in August last year. The competitors of Foodpanda include likes of TinyOwl, Swiggy and Zomato.
