5 New-Age Women’s Hygiene Brands Breaking the Taboos

Recently many brands have entered the women's hygiene space giving a tough challenge to conventional brands which have been existing in the market for years.

These brands offer innovative products like chemical-free cotton tampons, pads for postpartum and expendable absorptive underwear. The assortment of new-age brands is burgeoning in the domain of female hygiene. 

Here are the 5 brands which are taking the industry by storm:-

SANFE - Sanfe is an inventive feminine hygiene and period care brand that endeavors to build a healthier environment for women. All its products are made with earnest and energetic efforts and an ingenious approach. Its products are comfortable, rash-free, natural and organic, and gentle on the skin.

The brand was established in 2018 by two IIT-Delhi friends, Archit Aggarwal and Harry Sehrawat, while still in the third year of their graduation with the sight of being ‘a one-stop solution for all women-related problems’. In an effort of building the right products, they got in touch with the target audience through questionnaire analysis, e-mails, in-person chats, and focused group discussions.

The brand has developed a series of new innovative products such as stand-and-pee devices, pain roll-ons, and organic menstrual cups.

Nua - Nua was instituted in a hope of modifying women’s wellness in India. It is based on a wholly new concept and technology. It comprises of all-around products such as self-heating patches, pore cleansing face wash, and a selection of cutting-edge and 100 percent safe products to make your period more convenient. 

It was launched in 2017 by Ravi Ramachandran, an alumnus of the University of Oxford and NIT Trichy. 

Sirona - Sirona was founded in 2014 by Deep Bajaj. The journey of the brand started with a goal ‘to impact the lives of women positively, by offering products that solve unaddressed feminine hygiene issues and share unbiased information that empowers them to take the right decision’, and a vision ‘to break the stigma around menstrual hygiene and redefine femininity for modern times’. 

It offers a wide range of products including period care, intimate care, toilet hygiene, hair removal, and personal safety.

AVNI - AVNI is another feminine hygiene brand founded by Sujata Pawar in 2021. Avni means The Earth. The brand uses it as a symbolic personification of the woman who is the mother of all life - reinventing ancient wisdom in a modern approach through products.

Its products are designed by healthcare professionals, made with all-natural ingredients, and packaged and shipped 100 percent plastic-free every time.

The Woman’s Company - The Woman's Company was launched in March 2020 by Founder & CEO Anika Parashar and Co-Founder & COO Roopam Gupta with the goal of addressing serious gaps in the feminine hygiene industry in India. As the name suggests, The Woman’s Company is an initiative started by women. The brand has an up-to-the-mark line of tailor-made, organic, wellness, and hygiene products.

Its products include bamboo razors, stand and pee sticks, menstrual cups, panty liners day pads, and tampons. The brand has with applicators also established a strong presence on e-commerce marketplaces such as Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Nykaa, and Zivame.
