One97 Communications is continuing on its global expansion spree by taking its digital platform to Western Europe and the US markets through strategic acquisitions. The digital goods and value-added services division of Paytm has already marked its international presence in Africa and also has scheduled launch lined up for Indonesia, Malaysia and Middle East.
While having conversation with one of the dailies, Amit Sinha, Senior Vice-President, One97 Communications informed that the international business, which makes up 20 per cent of One97's annual revenue, will be a focus area going ahead. Company is targeting 100 per cent growth this year, riding on growth of content for 3G network, video consumption and network cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
The marketing business and related analytics for telcos makes up 70 per cent of the company's annual revenues. One97 is also mulling selling content on the Paytm marketplace, with payments driven through the wallet.
As per the claims made by the company, it has a mammoth data base of almost 360 million daily visitors making around 100 million daily transactions. Though Sinha was very open to discuss the strategies of the company, but was not ready to disclose the revenue numbers for the business. He added that the company is expecting to accelerate its annual business growth to 100 per cent from 30 per cent.
According to Sinha, the differentiating aspect of One97's business is the added focus on providing back-end services including marketing, billing and a platform for consumption, while most of its rivals are focusing on generating content.
