Aditya Rao, an engineering graduate started LocalOye.com with an idea to cater into the event space but then the service expanded in other sectors such as tutors, home services, wellness etc. LocalOye.com is operational only in Mumbai as of now and claims to have around 3,000 merchants on its platform across various categories. Company’s business model runs in the line of top listing companies such as Sulekha.com and JustDial.

The platform uses a recommendation engine to bridge the gap between customers and service professionals within seconds. Both customers and merchants are connected to each other through their mobile apps. The app also lets you review, accept, engage and schedule bookings.

The start-up claims to protect customers who get bombarded with calls that they get looking for such a service through existing classified players. Last it raised angel funding fromSidharth Rao (co-founder Webchutney), Haresh Chawla (former group CEO Network 18 and currently a partner with private equity firm India Value Fund Advisors) and Sachin Bhatia (co-founder, MakeMyTrip).
