Fabindia Founder, Nandan Nilekani & Others Support Publishing Startup Juggernaut

Juggernaut, a mobile first publishing startup, plans to give authors both a digital and a physical platform.

A mobile first publishing startup, Juggernaut, has raised about R15 Cr ($2.2 Mn) in a round led by William Bissell (founder, Fabindia), Nandan Nilekani (co-founder, Infosys) and Neeraj Aggarwal (MD, Boston Consulting Group).

Founded by Chiki Sarkar (former, publisher and editor-in-chief of Penguin Random House India) and Durga Raghunath (former VP (growth), Zomato), Juggernaut plans to give authors both a digital and a physical platform, which is currently in beta stage of development.

Juggernaut’s founding team includes Gavin Morris (art director), Jaishree Ram Mohan (managing editor) besides executive editors Nandini Mehta and R Sivapriya.

The firm plans to publish 50 titles each year, starting from April 2016 and will be distributed and warehoused by French publisher Hachette India.

William Bissell was advised by Angela De Giacomo and Dipankar Vig of MPC Legal; Nandan Nilekani was advised by Entrust Family Office; and Juggernaut was advised by Satyajit Sarna and Associates, on the transaction.
