The Porter, a Mumbai-based online trucks and tempos start-up has raised Rs 3 crore from Kae Capitals. The funds will be used to enhance its wing in Mumbai and to expand the services in Delhi and Bengaluru.
Founded in 2014 by IIT graduates Pranav Goel, Uttam Digga and Vikas Choudhary, The Porter is a mobile app used to hire vehicles for relocation, online deliveries and industrial supplies. The firm is also in talks to raise Rs. 30-40 crores fund in coming six months.
Pranav Goel, Co-Founder, Porter, said just like Uber and Ola have organised taxi industry, The Porter is doing the same thing in goods movement space with mainly LCVs (light commercial vehicles) and Omni vans.
The Porter claims to get more than 2,000 transactions per month which leads to the monthly revenue of Rs. 25 lakhs. The company has hooked up with corporate clients including ITC, Delhivery and Urban Ladder. It has more than 100 trucks in Mumbai.
As per Tracxn, a data provider on start-ups, almost two dozen ventures have come up in the intra-city logistics space since 2013 across Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. These include Moovo, Shippr and Blowhorn, which raised capital from Unitus Seed Fund in November.
