Hyper-local marketplace Zopper will allow users to pay for mobile phones and other purchases through a payment gateway on its mobile app.
Hyper-local marketplace Zopper will allow users to pay for mobile phones and other purchases through a payment gateway on its mobile app, a crucial step towards winning customers' trust as the Tiger Global-backed startup embarks on a nationwide expansion.
Solvy Tech Solutions, which owns and operates Zopper, has tied up with Mumbai-based Citrus Pay Solutions, a leading payments service operator.
"We have integrated Citrus Pay's payment technology on to our app, and this will go a long way in easing consumer worries when making payments online," said Neeraj Jain, co-founder and chief executive of Zopper, which mainly lists consumer electronics such as mobile phones on its platform.
Payment gateways are emerging as a critical element for such hyperlocal marketplaces that are looking to take on the country's top ecommerce companies such as Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal.
