Recently DLF Promenade, one of the premium malls of the country held the 8th edition of the Partner’s Excellence Awards 2017 to honour the in-house retailers for retail excellence. It is an annual activity for the mall to felicitate its star performers. This time the activity was followed by the period of demonetisation and recently announced Union Budget.
Dinaz Madhukar, Sr Vice President at DLF Luxury Retail and Hospitality Vertical, DLF was speaking at the sidelines of the event. Explaining the impact of ban cash transactions above three lakhs on luxury buying, she said, “I don’t think it is an issue at all, even earlier pan card was required on above two lakh cash transaction.”
Speaking on the impact of demonetisation she said, “December and January are the sale months and sale-period is never the indicator of growth. True indicator would be the performance of the coming months.”
Adding further she said, “For luxury mall, the sale period starts from end of December and goes on up to January, and then starts from June and remain up until July. Micheal Kors and Burberry usually perform well during the sale period, even this year they did well.”
Quashing the reports of rent revision request from brands during the demonetisation period she said, “In premium segment, we work on revenue share model, so we were equally impacted with them during the period of downfall. No price revision was requested from any brand at Promenade.”
Speaking at new entries she said, “Coach and Kate Spade will be shortly opening at DLF Emporio.”
She also informed that Kate Spade’s Gold line will only be introduced at Emporio.
And in premium mall, Namak Mandi, a restaurant will shortly be opening its door at Promenade, and in food court, the new addition will be Biryani Blues.
“We have just opened a custom jewellery brand called Aarohi at Promonade,” she informed.
At last, speaking on anniversary celebration she said, "We are honoured to celebrate 8 years of retail excellence with our patrons. We understand our customers and aspire to give them the right environment by offering a multi-faceted destination of the best of fashion, food and fun."
