Myntra, Amazon announce discount war with 50-80% off

Myntra, taking cue from its earlier sale events, this time too expects tier II and III cities and towns will continue to be an important area of focus with over 60% sales coming from these regions.

New Delhi: The sale season is back with country’s two e-commerce biggies including Amazon and Myntra hosting summer sale with steep discounts in the range of 50-80%, across categories on their platforms.

Flipkart led fashion e-commerce player Myntra has announced the launch of its End of Reason Sale (EORS) from 22nd-25th June where the platform will offer discounts ranging from 50-80%. The company is expecting 8x sales over a normal day during this period of sale.

According to Myntra, the 8th edition of the mega fashion sale will have over 6 lakh styles from over 2,500 brands at 50-80% discounts on offer. Jabong will also be participating in this EORS and is expecting 6x sales of a normal day.

On the other hand, Amazon too is coming up with its Amazon Fashion Wardrobe Refresh Sale from 21st June-24th June, 2018. The e-commerce giant is planning to offer a discount of up to 80% over 20 lakh styles from over 500 brands. The discounts will be on a range of products across categories such as apparel, watches, fashion & precious jewellery, shoes, sportswear, handbags, wallets, sunglasses, luggage among other.

“At Amazon fashion, we have something for everyone, everywhere. With almost 99% coverage across pin codes in India, we are most excited with the ability to serve customers especially first-time shoppers wherever they might be," said Arun Sirdeshmukh, Business Head of Amazon Fashion.

Brands on offer

Myntra’s EORS will have brands such as Nike, Adidas, Puma, Forever 21, Swarovski, Tommy Hilfiger, Jack & Jones, Flying Machine along with Myntra’s private brands, such as Roadster, HRX among other.

The Amazon Fashion Wardrobe Refresh Sale will offer deals on brands including Puma, New Balance, Red Tape, Sparx, US Polo Assn., United Colors of Benetton, GAP, Under Armour, Levi’s, Biba, American Tourister, Fastrack, Daniel Wellington and Accessorize.

Besides, Amazon will offer 40% - 70% off on bags, wallets & luggage. Its apparel segment will have 50% - 80% discounts. Shoes will have 40% - 80% off, fashion jewelry will offer 70% - 90% off with watches offering discounts in the range of 30% - 70%.

“EORS 8 is prepped and ready to have over 11 million unique users for Myntra over 4 days. We are geared to handle 63 million sessions and expect to register a 40% growth over the previous June edition.  We have created the necessary infrastructure to increase delivery speed by 15% and have also doubled our Kirana network of stores to 7500 spanning across 50 cities, thereby targeting to complete 90% deliveries within a week of the sale,” said Ananth Narayanan, CEO, Myntra-Jabong.

What’s New?

For this edition, Myntra has extended its sale preview known as ‘Price Reveal’ to two days, giving shoppers time to wishlist their favorite products starting from 8 pm on June 19 to 7 pm on June 21st.  It has also introduced a new concept called ‘Early Access’ which will allow shoppers to make purchases during the price reveal period itself, by paying a fixed fee so they don’t miss losing their favorite products.

Another new feature this time is the easy-to-use, Quick Cash program, by which every user will be able to send out a personalized link to their friends inviting them to visit Myntra during EORS. For every new person that visits the sale, the sender will be rewarded with an additional discount on their cart value.

The company has also launched an Augmented Reality game on the Myntra app to engage 5 lakh users ahead of the sale and earn coins which can be redeemed for early access or special offers during EORS.

In addition shoppers can avail 10% cashback on using SBI cards with a minimum spend of Rs.3000 and 10% cashback on PhonePe, upto Rs 250. Customers will be eligible for free shipping on all orders during EORS.

On Amazon, Prime members can enjoy 12 hours preview sale from 20th June onwards! For the ease of shopping, there is a curated selection of over 200 top trends for the customers to choose from, for this edition of Wardrobe Refresh Sale.

Customers across the country can avail of exciting cashback offers such as: 15% cashback using Amazon Pay on a minimum purchase of Rs. 1000 to 1500.  15% instant discount on ICICI bank cards on a minimum purchase of Rs. 1500.
