Future Group, led by Kishore Biyani, is aiming to shift gears for its Central brand. The group is planning to add six more mammoth stores under its Central brand by the end of this year. Currently, there are around 34 stores operating around the country and if group adds six more, it will take the total count to 40.

Apart from targeting big markets of Mumbai and Benagluru where the brand had already marked its presence, Future Group will be focusing on tier II & tier III cities as well. Confirming the news, Kishore Biyani, CEO, Future Group stated that the group is planning to have six more stores by the end of this year. It has plans to add 2.5 million square feet this year. We would continue to focus on tier I & II. Wherever there would be a suitable customer, we would be there.

Presently, the company has installed its 33 mega stores in big cities such as Mumbai, Benagluru, Hyderabad, Pune and also in some small cities including Indore, Patna, Baroda and Surat.

Elaborating further on the location of these stores, Biyani commented it all depends on the right property as it is a large format store and needs more space. Company recently launched its 34th store in Delhi , which is also its First Next Generation Central Store. The new store showcases around 500 brands and is located at aerocity.

Future Group, which owns several retail formats as Central, Brand Factory, Planet Sports, Big Bazaar, Easyday, Food Bazaar, Foodhall, HomeTown & Ezone, is adopting omni channel system by integrating online e-commerce with its traditional stores.

Group is working on this very rapidly. It has completed in Ezone and it is working on trial basis on other formats. It would be operational in all Big Bazaars in next six months, further commented Biyani.
