During the festive season, all the e-commerce marketplaces starts showering offers and discounts on customers. Being dipped totally in festival mood, people start ordering as many things they could lay their hands on and some companies take the advantage and fool some customers.
Similar cases have been reported of being befooled by two giant online shopping destinations and they are Amazon and Flipkart.
After receiving multiple complaints from the consumers about being cheated by Amazon and Flipkart, the weights and measures team went to raid the warehouse of these companies and found products of almost 70 lakhs INR.
As per reports Legal Metrology Organisation has booked Amazon and Flipkart for violating the packaged commodities' rules and regulations.
It has seized total of 18 types of packaged goods, which might roughly cost 37 lakhs INR.
As reported by ET, these Packages do not conform to the Package commodity Rules, 2011. MRP wasn`t mentioned on the goods, weight was as per written on the box were some of the violations.
