FabIndia gets its investor's support on Voyeurism case
Engulfed in the voyeurism case, leading ethnic wear brand FabIndia is backed by its biggest investor L-Capital Asia.
Expressing his views on the matter, Ravi Thakran, chairman of L-Capital Asia, said:"Frankly I don't want to get into the nuances of Indian polity or yellow journalism, " says Thakran says the LVMH-owned company is standing with the company in light of the controversy.Besides, there is no question of us putting any pressure on FabIndia.I have 100 per cent faith in their integrity and compliance. "
Further he denied any tension between the investor and the New Delhi-based retailer. "I refute of any issue between FabIndia and L-Capital" he spoke to ET on phone from London. "We are 100 per cent supportive of them. Our firm has investments spanning two dozen companies in Asia. "If there is one company which I speak proudly of is FabIndia, " he said.
L-Capital was speaking for the first time after a voyeurism case was filed against the company's employees after HRD minister Smriti Irani alleged that the company's outlet in Candolim, Goa was filming while she was in the trial room.
Besides, the ethnic wear retailer faced similar allegations for its Kolkata outlet at the high-end Quest Mall in Park Circus on monday, where another cctv camera was positioned facing the trail room. These acquisitions against the retailer have affected the brands image.
