New Ad campaign drops Flipkart in Court

Company's recent advertising campaign has put the community in a bad light and it demanded the court to take the matter legally.

Flipkart has sparked a fire among the Gorkha community through its recent advertisement campaign. As per the recent report published in one of the renowned dailies, the Gorkha community has strongly opposed the recent ad campaign of India’s online marketplace and further asked the company to take it off the air. However, it seems that Flipkart is not convinced by the claims made by the community and it has declined to take any action the complaint. The move was certainly not welcomed by the Gorkhas, and they decided to take a legal action against the company.

According to the petition filled by the company, company’s recent advertising campaign has put the community in a bad light and it demanded the court to take the matter legally. The petition was filled at Tis Hazari courts on Saturday, accuses the company and co-founders, Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal, under Section 154 (A) and (B) for criminally conspiring with each other for defamation and hurting the religious sentiment of the Nepali/Gorkhali community.

The petition further accuses Mullen Lintas, the creative agency behind Flipkart ad, and Virat Tandon, chief executive at Mullen Lintas of conspiring against the Gorkha community with Flipkart and its co-founders.
