Benguluru- based online food delivery startup, Spoonjoy have announced that they have raised funds close to $1 million in series A round.
The funding was led by SAIF Partners. The startup will use the injected cash to uplift its technological capabilities and also expand to more cities. Currently Spoonjoy is operational only in Bengaluru but they are planning to launch their services to Delhi and Mumbai in the next couple of months. The company claims to be serving 700-750 order per day and a large chunk of these orders comes from offices.
The firm has a subscription based revenue model where a user can sign up for a month, and pay-as-you order. They currently offer an “on demand” lunch and dinner that reaches in 30 minutes in addition to the subscription model which includes salads, snacks, fruits and sprouts etc.
Spoonjoy earlier raised an undisclosed amount of angel funding from Flipkart’s Sachin Bansal and Mekin Maheshwari, Abhishek Goyal, Founder- Tracxn! And Sahil Barua, Co-Founder – Delhivery. SpoonJoy compete in the likes of ITiffin, TinyOwl, Zomato, Foodpanda and Swiggy.
