How AR toys can help kids learn at home

In light of the COVID-19 shutdown, all of us are facing the same question right now. How to engage children who are bubbling with energy but cannot go out and play? Here's a solution that ensures good screen time along with essential skills.

Augmented Reality (AR) has taken the entire world by storm. New-age toymakers have taken to AR and developed toys that are interactive, educational, and of course, entertaining. But what does it mean for us as parents?

Here's a quick guide on AR toys and how they are revolutionizing education, one game at a time.

What is Augmented Reality?

The link between the real (or physical) and the digital (or virtual) world, augmented reality is an interactive experience that blends both worlds.

In gaming, AR bridges the gap between the physical toy and the smartphone or tablet. For instance, some games need you to use your smartphone to scan a real-world object to move ahead in the story.

If the real-world object is a flashcard of a tiger, the smartphone presents an interactive image, video or a 3d figure of the animal on the screen. In some games, the goal might be to find hidden objects by scanning your actual surroundings with your smartphone.

Why are AR toys all the rage?

The reasons for the rise of AR toys are multifold. For starters, Gen Alpha kids are tech-savvy and have access to smartphones, unlike previous generations. The prospect of bringing an object to life is fascinating and exciting.

If the topic at hand is how animals live in their natural habitat, AR can teach it through 3D models. Younger children can listen to the sounds the animal makes and understand its eating habits, all through stories and simple games. Meanwhile, older children can learn about the food chain and complex ecosystems, through interactive and informative games.

AR makes it possible to explore multiple avenues of learning and present various pieces of information in a visual, easy-to-understand manner. Where a regular map tells you about countries and capitals, an AR-powered globe takes learning to a whole new level. It not only teaches geography, but also introduces you to various cultures, cuisines, monuments, and animals — all at the touch of a button.

By marrying tactical play and digital storytelling, AR toys bring together the best of both worlds. Various digital elements like audio, video, images, and 3D content, merge with physical components of the toy, thereby making learning a unique and inclusive process. The AR technology also helps the child interact with the world around them and creates two-way interactivity, where the child feels like they have control over what they're learning.

Moreover, AR creates a system of instant feedback that motivates the child to learn more and be more accurate. Most AR toys provide a progress report or graph, which is a personalized evaluation of your child's learning curve and progress. This report can be monitored and tracked from time-to-time.

With the arrival of smart AR-toys, the world has become your child's oyster. They can make playtime productive, learn through stories, and travel the world without actually leaving home. With the increasing number of kids, parents, and educators alike who use AR-toys regularly, one thing's clear. AR-powered learning toys are the next big thing in education, and by the looks of it, they're here to stay.

The Pink Towel That Broke Wimbledon Tradition — And What It Means for Welspun’s India Game

For over two decades, Welspun has been a household name in the global home textiles arena. With a dominant presence in the US, where one in four towels sold carries the Welspun name, the company has earned its stripes as an industry leader. From iconic Wimbledon towels to luxurious linens gracing premium hotels, Welspun's global footprint remains undeniable.

But the textile giant is not resting on its laurels. It is now weaving a fresh narrative — conquering its home turf in India. With a thriving homegrown market and consumers seeking premium yet sustainable home solutions, Welspun's India expansion marks a bold move that could redefine the country's home textiles landscape.

"India is the fastest-growing market at the moment, and being an Indian company, it is the perfect time for us to bring our innovations home," says Keyur Parekh, CEO Global & Whole Time Director, Welspun Living Limited. With a keen focus on innovation, sustainability, and understanding consumer behavior, Welspun’s India expansion is set to shake up the market. The brand is not just aiming for visibility — it is aiming to transform how Indians experience comfort and luxury at home.

The Global Crown

“The US is the world’s largest consumer market for home textiles, and we proudly hold the largest market share in terry towels. Beyond retail, we are a key player in the hospitality sector. If you have stayed at an IHG property, you have likely experienced our bed linens. At Wyndham hotels, our bath towels provide the signature comfort.”

Welspun’s journey to global dominance was no fluke. "We are not just supplying products; we are providing experiences. Our innovations like Hygro Cotton enhance comfort, providing temperature regulation and moisture management," Parekh explains.

Their UK presence is equally impressive, with the largest market share for towels. And if you have marveled at the towels used in Wimbledon, you have touched a piece of Welspun’s legacy. "The athletes love our towels. They are iconic, often 'stolen' as cherished memorabilia. That is a testament to their appeal," shares Parekh.

This global leadership extends beyond the US to the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia, with a presence in over 50 countries. But for Parekh, the biggest opportunity is now back home. “India is the fastest-growing market, and as an Indian company, we are uniquely positioned to bring our global innovations to Indian homes.”

welspun

Back to Bharat

The Indian home textile landscape is vast and diverse, with each region having its own preferences. For Welspun, the key lies in educating consumers. "A towel is not just a drying tool; it is a skin-hugging product that impacts your comfort. Our products are made without harmful chemicals and with sustainability at the core. We do not sell towels and bedsheets; we offer moisture management and temperature regulation solutions," Parekh emphasizes.

Welspun is now bringing its acclaimed innovations like Hygro Cotton to Indian consumers. “Hygro Cotton, like an Intel chip for textiles, blooms after washing and becomes softer over time. Even industrial laundries in hotels rely on its durability. For bedding, it ensures optimal sleep by regulating temperature. Ranked among the world’s top four in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), our products are designed for wellness,” explains Parekh.

With spaces like Spaces — its premium brand — and the British heritage brand Christie leading the luxury segment, the company is targeting both mass and premium markets.

The buzzword for Welspun's India strategy is "education." Parekh believes that enlightening customers and retailers alike will be a game-changer. "We are focusing on product experiences. From demonstrating how our towels bloom after wash to introducing washable Area Rugs that are both anti-skid and easy to maintain, we are setting new standards."

In a strategic expansion, Welspun ventured into flooring, setting up India’s first state-of-the-art, integrated facility. From luxury residences to bustling airports, its flooring solutions cater to evolving demands. “India’s construction boom means a massive need for durable, aesthetic flooring. Our fully integrated setup ensures quality control, while innovations like washable Area Rugs offer consumers the luxury of easy maintenance,” Parekh adds.

Quick Commerce to Luxury

Welspun’s diversified product strategy spans from mass-market essentials to luxury offerings. While brands like Spaces cater to premium segments, Christy is the epitome of luxury, making its mark on high streets and in exclusive digital channels.

“Luxury is about heritage and exclusivity. Christy’s British elegance, tailored for modern Indian homes, fills a significant market void. We are not just selling textiles; we are delivering experiences,” Parekh notes.

Welspun’s omnichannel approach ensures that its products are accessible to everyone. While quick commerce channels cater to instant needs, luxury offerings under Christie maintain exclusivity through D2C platforms and luxury retail partnerships.

Eyeing 30% Growth

With India’s booming demand for quality home textiles, Welspun’s growth trajectory looks promising. "We are leveraging our global expertise to offer Indian consumers unparalleled quality. From quick commerce to bespoke luxury, our omnichannel presence ensures accessibility for all segments. We are targeting a 30 percent growth in the upcoming year, driven by increased consumer awareness, expanding distribution channels, and product innovation," says Parekh.

What’s Next?

Looking ahead, Welspun plans to integrate Indian design sensibilities into its luxury range. "While Christie retains its British charm, we will add touches that resonate with Indian consumers. The idea is to offer luxury that feels personalized," Parekh shares.

From global acclaim to hometown glory, Welspun's India play is a masterstroke in strategic expansion. With innovation as its cornerstone and sustainability as its promise, the textile titan is all set to weave a brighter, softer future for Indian homes. From international markets to Indian households, Welspun’s journey reflects resilience, innovation, and a relentless consumer-first approach. With sustainability at its core and education driving market adoption, the brand is set to redefine India’s home textile landscape—one towel, one bedsheet, and one rug at a time.

"Our journey has always been about making life more comfortable, stylish, and sustainable. And now, we are bringing that vision home," concludes Parekh.

FMCG Sector Gears Up for 6-8 pc Revenue Growth by FY26 amid Urban Recovery

The fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector in India is poised for a revenue rebound of 100 to 200 basis points (bps) to 6-8 percent in fiscal 2026, following a relatively modest 5-6 percent growth anticipated in fiscal 2025. This recovery is primarily driven by a gradual resurgence in urban demand and consistent rural consumption, translating to a projected volume increase of 4-6 percent. According to a Crisil Ratings study of 82 FMCG companies, which together account for one-third of the sector’s estimated Rs 5.9 lakh crore revenue this fiscal, the outlook for the sector appears cautiously optimistic.

Drivers of Revenue Rebound

The anticipated revenue rebound will be fueled by a combination of volume growth and realization improvements. The gradual recovery in urban demand, spurred by moderating food inflation, easing interest rates, and tax relief measures announced in the Union Budget, is expected to stimulate consumption. Rural demand, meanwhile, is set to grow steadily, bolstered by continued government welfare schemes and an increase in minimum support prices.

High food inflation, elevated interest rates, and sluggish wage growth significantly dampened urban consumption in fiscal 2025, with personal care and some food and beverage (F&B) categories particularly affected. In contrast, rural volumes have shown signs of resilience, outpacing urban growth in recent quarters, thanks to favorable monsoon conditions and welfare-driven purchasing power.

In addition to volume growth, revenue realization is expected to see a 2 percent uptick as FMCG companies partially pass on the inflationary impact in key product categories such as soaps, biscuits, coffee, hair oil, and tea. The uptick will be influenced by the elevated cost of crucial inputs like palm oil, coffee, copra, and wheat. Notably, palm oil, a vital input for F&B, personal care, and home care segments, remains a significant cost driver.

Strategic Adaptations Amid Rising Competition

The FMCG sector has faced rising competition from regional and local players, especially as consumers downtrade to more affordable brands. Additionally, the digital transformation of the retail landscape has empowered direct-to-consumer (D2C) companies to scale distribution more rapidly than ever before.

Traditional FMCG companies are adapting to this dynamic environment by acquiring D2C brands, expanding digital channels, and introducing affordable product packs. Furthermore, exclusive packs designed for quick commerce platforms, which now account for 30 percent of the e-commerce channel, are helping these companies capture emerging consumer preferences.

Aditya Jhaver, Director of Crisil Ratings, noted that traditional FMCG companies are also boosting digital advertising to promote premium products and expanding their distribution networks to reach more rural consumers. By strategically positioning affordable and value-based products, companies aim to mitigate the impact of competitive intensity and maintain revenue growth.

Operating Profitability and Credit Stability

Despite the anticipated revenue rebound, operating profitability for the FMCG sector is expected to remain flat at 20-21 percent in fiscal 2026, following a 50-100 bps decline in fiscal 2025. This stability in profitability is underpinned by the sector’s robust cash generation capabilities, strong balance sheets, and substantial liquid reserves, which ensure credit stability despite external pressures.

The strategic focus on cost efficiency and prudent financial management has helped FMCG companies maintain healthy cash flow, even in the face of fluctuating input costs and inflationary pressures. As a result, the sector’s credit profiles are expected to remain stable, driven by continued liquidity and conservative financial policies.

Emerging Trends and Future Outlook

Looking ahead, the FMCG sector will continue to navigate challenges related to input price volatility, monsoon performance, and the utilization of higher disposable incomes among consumers. While moderating food inflation and favorable government policies are set to boost urban demand, rural consumption will remain a critical growth driver, particularly given the ongoing allocation to welfare schemes and rising minimum support prices.

Digital transformation will also be a key area of focus as traditional FMCG players aim to enhance their presence on e-commerce platforms and leverage quick commerce opportunities. As consumer preferences evolve, companies will need to balance affordability with quality while investing in innovation to stay competitive.

Anuj Sethi, Senior Director of Crisil Ratings, highlighted the importance of volume recovery as a critical factor for sustained growth. He believes that the combination of easing inflation, lower interest rates, and supportive policy measures will foster a gradual yet steady increase in consumption, especially in urban areas.

6.5 Million Sq. Ft. Leased! Why Retailers Are Racing for Space in India

The Indian retail sector is on a remarkable growth trajectory, driven by rapid urbanization, increasing affluence, and shifting consumer preferences. As global economies grapple with uncertainties, India has emerged as a key market for both international and home-grown brands. The resilience of the Indian economy, supported by a burgeoning middle class, has created an environment where retail spaces are evolving into experiential hubs that cater to the changing needs of consumers.

From luxury brands to everyday essentials, retailers are seeking larger, more immersive store spaces that offer consumers a blend of shopping, dining, and entertainment. This shift is further amplified by the rise of omnichannel retail, where brick-and-mortar stores act as vital touchpoints, complementing the digital experience. However, with demand consistently surpassing supply, vacancy rates in malls have plummeted, leading to a surge in rental values.

According to the latest insights from ANAROCK Retail’s RELEAP report, the retail leasing momentum in 2024 has remained robust. With over 6.5 million sq ft of organized retail space leased across major cities, the sector has experienced a notable reduction in vacancy levels. Malls are operating at nearly full capacity, especially in prime locations, as brands prioritize experiential store formats. This ongoing demand has also led to a significant rise in rental values, particularly in prominent high-street areas.

The Leasing Boom

In 2024, India witnessed the leasing of over 6.5 million sq. ft of organized retail space across major cities, significantly surpassing new stock supply. Vacancy levels in malls dipped to 7.8 percent, pushing rental values upward. The rapid decline in vacancy rates from 15.5 percent in 2021 to the current rate reflects the booming appetite for prime retail space.

Anuj Kejriwal, CEO & MD, ANAROCK Retail, highlighted the surge, saying, "Significant upcoming supply is planned in NCR, MMR, and Hyderabad, accounting for nearly 78 percent of the total supply. Notable mall developments include World Mark, Aerocity with 30 lakh sq. ft, Ramsons Trends Square Mall, Bangalore with 10 lakh sq. ft, and Orion Mall in Kokapet, Hyderabad – also with 10 lakh sq. ft. Rental values across malls and high streets are on the rise and are expected to continue their upward climb until new good quality supply is added."

Bigger, Better, and Bolder Stores

Retailers are also setting their sights on larger store formats. Spaces between 2,000 and 5,000 sq. ft accounted for the highest number of leasing transactions, while stores in the 1,000-2,500 sq. ft range are increasingly preferred in premium malls due to limited availability.

The sector’s momentum is also visible in the dominance of Beauty & Personal Care and Departmental Stores, which saw an 11 percent surge in H2 2024. However, Apparel & Accessories retained the lion’s share, contributing to 40 percent of leasing transactions.

India’s Emerging Retail Powerhouses

India’s status as a retail hub is further reinforced by both global brand entries and domestic brands expanding their footprints. Pankaj Jain, Chairman and CMD of SPJ Group, remarked on the shift towards experience-led retailing, saying,

“India’s retail sector is witnessing unprecedented growth, with regions like Delhi-NCR emerging as key hubs for premium and experiential shopping. As more brands are expanding their presence to micro-markets, the need for comprehensive retail developments is on the rise. At SPJ True Realtyy, we see this as an opportunity to create a holistic retail and commercial ecosystem that delivers immersive experiences and world-class brands.”

The Rise of Experiential Shopping

Gone are the days when malls were just shopping destinations. Today, they’re buzzing experience zones that combine dining, entertainment, and retail therapy. The era of immersive store formats is here, with brands incorporating interactive displays, AI-powered recommendations, and AR/VR try-ons to captivate consumers.

Harsh Gupta, CEO of Sundream Group, stated, “With evolving consumer preferences, retail spaces are transforming into a seamless blend of shopping and leisure. Experience-driven stores are the future, and premium brands seek prime locations with high footfall and tech-enabled, dynamic spaces. At Anthurium Noida, we are redefining retail leasing by offering AI-ready infrastructure and a thriving commercial ecosystem.”

From Storytelling to Connection

For luxury and premium brands, a physical store is more than a point of sale; it’s a storytelling hub. Personalization is at the heart of these experiences, with brands leveraging data to tailor every interaction.

Ajendra Singh, Vice-President (Sales and Marketing) at Spectrum@Metro, emphasized the power of brand immersion, saying, “Today’s retail is no longer just about products; it’s about storytelling and brand immersion. Premium brands are elevating the retail experience through interactive store formats. At Spectrum@Metro, we are curating next-generation retail destinations that offer brands the perfect platform to showcase their identity.”

The High-Street Phenomenon

While malls are enjoying significant traction, India’s high streets remain a hotbed for retail activity. Locations like MG Road in Bangalore (lease rates at Rs 250-350/sq ft), South Extension in Delhi (Rs 800-1000/sq ft), and Linking Road in Mumbai (Rs 800-1000/sq ft) continue to command premium rents.

Leading the leasing wave are brands like Lifestyle International (15,69,760 sq ft), Reliance Projects & Property Management Services (15,02,823 sq ft), and PVR Limited (11,14,427 sq ft). The presence of major retail giants further validates the strength of the Indian market.

The future of Indian retail is clearly experience-driven. With 60 shopping malls spanning 23.25 million sq. ft expected to launch by 2025, the sector is primed for continued growth. Another report predicts that the retail industry will expand at a 9 percent CAGR from US$ 779 billion in 2019 to $1.8 trillion by 2030.

Expect to see even greater innovations in retail spaces, with AI, AR/VR, and omnichannel strategies seamlessly blending the physical and digital. Sustainability and eco-conscious design will also play a more significant role as consumers demand responsible retail practices.

India’s retail renaissance is here, and for brands looking to make their mark, there’s no better time to claim their space. The consumer is ready, the space is evolving, and the experience is unforgettable.

India’s Frozen Food Market to Triple by 2033, Reaching $572.54 Bn with a 13.25 pc CAGR

The frozen food market in India is witnessing an unprecedented surge, reflecting changing consumer preferences and the rapid urbanization sweeping across the nation. Valued at $186.84 billion in 2024, the market is projected to reach a staggering $572.54 billion by 2033, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.25 percent from 2025 to 2033, according to Research and Markets. This growth trajectory is driven by several socio-economic and cultural factors, including rising disposable incomes, busy urban lifestyles, and advancements in cold chain infrastructure.

A Changing Consumer Landscape

As cities expand and lifestyles evolve, the demand for quick and convenient meal options has skyrocketed. Busy professionals, young consumers, and nuclear families are increasingly turning to frozen foods as an answer to their hectic schedules. The convenience of ready-to-eat (RTE) products that save time without compromising on taste or nutrition has made them an attractive option. Moreover, the growing middle class and their exposure to global cuisines are driving an inclination towards Western-style frozen products like pasta, pizza, and desserts.

Anushree Dewen on the Frozen Food Boom

“Frozen foods have evolved from being a mere convenience option to a preferred choice for consumers seeking taste, variety, and nutritional value. With time-saving ready-to-cook options and advanced preservation techniques like Individual Quick Freezing (IQF), we ensure the taste, texture, and nutrients are all locked in. Today’s consumer is well-informed and looking for solutions that seamlessly fit their fast-paced lifestyle. It’s exciting to see how the Indian frozen food market is thriving, with younger consumers, nuclear families, and working professionals driving this demand for both comfort and innovation,” said Anushree Dewen, Lead, Marketing & Innovation, Godrej Foods Ltd.

Technological Advancements: A Game Changer

Technology has played a pivotal role in the evolution of the frozen food sector. Advanced preservation techniques, such as Individual Quick Freezing (IQF), have significantly enhanced the quality of products, maintaining their taste, texture, and nutritional value. This approach ensures that each item retains its original freshness, making frozen foods more appealing to health-conscious consumers.

Additionally, modern cold chain infrastructure, including refrigerated transportation and storage facilities, has minimized product spoilage and extended shelf life, making frozen food more accessible in both urban and rural areas. The expansion of cold chain systems has enabled not only the availability of domestic frozen food brands but also the influx of international players into the Indian market.

Innovative Offerings to Cater to Diverse Palates

Frozen food companies are innovating relentlessly to cater to the evolving tastes of Indian consumers. Brands like Godrej Yummiez and McCain are actively diversifying their product range, introducing items that resonate with regional and global preferences. As Anushree Dewen noted, “At Godrej Yummiez, our focus has always been on staying attuned to evolving consumer preferences and delivering convenience without compromising on quality. For instance, our recently launched Chicken Momos cater to the growing popularity of non-veg momos, which are now a preferred snack for 26 percent of India.”

The brand’s versatile offerings, ranging from crispy fried chicken and Italian-style sausages to Indian favorites like Lucknowi Seekh Kebab and Masala Nuggets, exemplify the growing demand for frozen comfort food with a global twist. Such innovations are instrumental in dispelling misconceptions about frozen food quality and nutritional content.

Regional Growth and Market Dynamics

The frozen food market in India is thriving across regions, driven by distinct consumer preferences and lifestyle changes.

North and Central India: Busy urban lifestyles and rising disposable incomes in cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, and Lucknow have propelled the demand for frozen snacks, vegetables, and meat products. With increased awareness and better delivery networks, the market in Central India is also gaining traction.

Southern India: The southern region, encompassing Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kochi, is witnessing rapid growth due to changing dietary habits and convenience-driven choices. Frozen foods like ready-to-cook meals, frozen meat, and quick snacks are becoming integral to urban households, particularly among working professionals and young families.

The Role of Retail and E-commerce

Supermarkets and e-commerce platforms are crucial in bolstering the frozen food sector. As online grocery shopping becomes increasingly prevalent, frozen foods are becoming more accessible to a wider audience. Moreover, the development of dedicated freezer sections in retail outlets and online platforms has improved product visibility and availability.

Future Outlook and Opportunities

With the growing inclination toward health and nutrition, frozen food brands are focusing on incorporating wholesome ingredients while ensuring minimal loss of nutrients. As consumer awareness of the nutritional benefits of frozen products rises, long-standing myths about frozen foods being unhealthy are gradually fading.

Government initiatives aimed at strengthening cold chain logistics and supporting food processing sectors also provide a favorable landscape for growth. By leveraging technology and fostering innovation, brands are well-positioned to capitalize on the surging demand.

Arrow Reimagining Brand Identity: From Formalwear Icon to Lifestyle Trailblazer

With a heritage dating back to 1851, Arrow has built a reputation for innovation. Over the years, it has introduced many pioneering ideas, from smart shirts and anti-odor technology to unique collar styles and detailing. One of its most memorable innovations was the detachable collar, a feature that made Arrow stand out.

The brand has always put the consumer and product at the heart of its strategy. “We believe that a brand can only succeed when its products match the changing needs of consumers. That’s why we constantly adapt to stay relevant and connected with our audience. Today, we continue to build on this legacy by creating modern, innovative products while staying true to our commitment to quality and timeless style,” said Anand Aiyer, CEO, Arrow.

Redefining Menswear

Arrow’s portfolio is broadly divided into three key categories: formal wear, smart casuals, and occasional wear. Formal wear remains the brand’s strongest pillar, reflecting its legacy and timeless appeal. The smart casual segment is housed under the Arrow Sport umbrella, catering to those seeking a balance between sophistication and comfort.

The occasional wear category is designed to meet diverse consumer preferences through two distinct lines: 1851, crafted for the mature consumer, and New York, aimed at the younger, fashion-forward audience. These sub-brands enable Arrow to develop targeted product lines that align with the unique demands of each segment.

One of its flagship offerings is the Auto-Press shirt—a non-iron, wrinkle-free shirt that has become synonymous with performance and convenience. “Our Auto-Press shirts are our biggest category, and we continually innovate within this segment to stay ahead of consumer expectations,” stated Aiyer. “Recently, we introduced the Auto-Press Flex—a revolutionary product that combines wrinkle-free technology with stretch for enhanced comfort. Achieving this blend is technically challenging, as the high-temperature baking process typically makes incorporating stretch difficult. Yet, we have pioneered this technology to offer performance without compromising on comfort.”

The brand’s pioneering spirit also extends to trousers with the Auto Flex waistband, delivering unparalleled comfort and flexibility. Additionally, its Auto-Press 4.0 shirts represent the next generation of wrinkle-free and non-iron technology, setting a new standard in formal wear.

“Despite our evolution and diversification, we continue to be widely regarded as a dominant formal wear brand. However, there is ample potential for us to transition into a comprehensive lifestyle label, catering to all aspects of menswear. The focus remains on solidifying its position in menswear and enhancing its lifestyle appeal,” he explained.

Expanding with Precision

Arrow maintains a strategic approach to distribution, focusing on quality over quantity to uphold its aspirational brand positioning. “We deliberately limit extensive distribution, choosing instead to establish a strong presence primarily in metro cities, mini-metros, and key Tier I markets. Our strategy is to be where our target consumers are most likely to engage with the brand, and we find that malls offer an ideal environment, thanks to their diverse and relevant consumer mix. While we aim to be present wherever our core consumers are, our focus remains on mature markets rather than aggressively penetrating Tier II and III cities,” highlighted Aiyer.

The brand’s distribution network spans multiple channels, including its Exclusive Brand Outlets (EBOs), department store channels, multi-brand outlets, and more than 1,000 touchpoints across the country. This omnichannel presence ensures it meets its customers’ needs while maintaining the brand’s premium positioning.

“We are committed to consistent expansion, opening around 20 to 30 new stores each year. Next year, we plan to take a significant step forward with the addition of 40+ new stores,” he asserted.

In markets that are not yet fully matured, Arrow continues to serve its consumers through alternative channels, such as department stores, shop-in-shops, and multi-brand environments. By leveraging consumer data and analytics, it assesses the potential of each market before making entry decisions.

“Around 18 to 20 percent of our sales come from online channels, while the majority remains offline,” Aiyer added.

Leveraging Tech Innovations

Technology has become an integral part of everyday lives, and no business today can afford to be non-tech-oriented. Arrow has implemented two major technological interventions that significantly enhance its operations.

The first major intervention is in retail, where it has partnered with Vector Software Tool. This tool plays a crucial role in inventory management and operational efficiency. It helps it with demand forecasting, ensuring that the right inventory is available at the right stores. If there is higher demand in a particular location, the tool enables inter-store transfers, automatically replenishing stock based on sales data. This tech-driven, automated approach helps it optimize stock levels and streamline operations effectively.

The second key intervention involves collaborating with design-led firms. They support it with design forecasting by analyzing global trends and conducting comprehensive benchmarking. By collecting insights through website monitoring and global comparisons, they provide the brand with valuable data that guide its design development, keeping its offerings relevant and trend-driven.

“Beyond these specific interventions, we leverage technology extensively across the organization, particularly in data analytics. We analyze sales data to understand what is performing well and use these insights to refine future product offerings. Our commitment to tech integration across various functions enhances our business performance and operational efficiency,” Aiyer remarked.

Reinventing Itself

Arrow has established a strong presence in the formal wear segment and is widely recognized as a leading brand in men’s formal apparel. Recently, it conducted consumer research that reaffirmed its positioning. However, one key insight that emerged is the desire for more freshness and innovation from the brand.

“To address this, we are evolving our brand identity by venturing into non-formal categories. This transformation will help us move from being predominantly formal to becoming a lifestyle brand that caters to various occasions and usage scenarios for men,” he concluded.

  • Packaged Drinking Water is purified through processes like reverse osmosis (RO), UV treatment, and ozonation to remove impurities. It is safe for drinking but does not retain natural minerals. This makes it more affordable and widely available. Popular brands include Bisleri, Kinley, and Aquafina.

Before Choosing a Mineral Water Brand

  • Check for ISI and FSSAI certification.
  • Look for the pH level (ideal drinking water pH is 7.4 to 8.5).
  • Consider eco-friendly brands like Ocean Agro.

Final Words!

India has a wide range of bottled water brands catering to different needs. Bisleri and Kinley are the most widely available. Himalayan is for those seeking natural purity. Tata Copper+ offers health benefits, while Rail Neer ensures affordability. Choosing the right brand depends on purity, price, and personal preference. Always check the label and opt for certified brands to ensure safe drinking water.

Best Tofu Brands in India: Top 10 Picks for Health-Conscious Consumers

Tofu, also known as bean curd, is gaining popularity among health-conscious Indians. Made from soy milk that is coagulated and pressed into solid blocks, tofu is a rich source of plant-based protein and an excellent alternative to paneer. It is naturally low in calories, cholesterol-free, and packed with essential amino acids, making it a great addition to balanced diets. With the growing awareness of vegan and lactose-free diets, many people are switching to tofu as a nutritious substitute for dairy-based proteins. Unlike paneer, tofu is completely plant-based and is suitable for those who are lactose intolerant or looking to reduce their dairy intake. It is also a staple in weight-loss diets due to its low fat and high protein content.

Tofu comes in different textures, including firm, extra-firm, soft, and silken. Firm tofu is ideal for stir-fries, grilling, and curries, as it holds its shape well. Silken tofu, on the other hand, is smoother and softer, making it perfect for soups, smoothies, and desserts. As the demand for high-quality tofu rises, Indian brands now offer fresh, organic, and flavored varieties.
