Cobi Toys Signs Licensing Deal with Volkswagen

Cobi Toys recently announced the signing of a prestigious licensing agreement with the German automotive giant Volkswagen. This agreement allows Cobi to create detailed and lifelike reproductions of classic and modern Volkswagen car models in miniature size. Among the planned sets are automotive icons designed to appeal to both collectors and younger fans worldwide.

“We are extremely excited to collaborate with such a renowned brand as Volkswagen,” said Lee Crocker, Country Manager UK & Eire.

Crocker further said, “Thanks to this agreement, we can offer our customers unique sets that combine a passion for building bricks with a love for the automotive industry. Our models will provide not only great fun but also an educational experience, giving builders a better understanding of the structure and design of classic cars.”

The first sets of Volkswagen car models from Cobi will be available for sale as early as autumn 2024.

Earlier this year, Cobi also entered into an agreement with Jeep ahead of the 80th anniversary of D-Day. The initial products to roll off the production line were six Willys Jeeps from WWII. Three of these Jeeps were in a 1:12 scale, including the Willys MB & Trailer (1510 pieces), the Willys MB Medical (1070 pieces), and the Willys MB (1150 pieces). These range in price from £100 to £140.

At a lower price point, ranging from £18 to £25, the same three items were also manufactured at a smaller 1:35 scale. The Willys MB & Trailer consists of 200 pieces, the Willys MB Medical with 130 pieces, and finally, the Willys MB with 132 pieces.
