Patina Osaka has revealed a trailblazing collaboration with Verdy, the renowned cultural architect, ahead of its grand opening in April 2025. Known for reshaping Japan’s cultural identity and leaving his mark on the global creative scene, the Osaka-born visionary brings his signature style to the luxury hotel’s innovative programming.
Verdy, celebrated for his projects “Girls Don’t Cry” and “Wasted Youth,” and roles such as Creative Partner at Human Made and Artistic Director for Blackpink’s 2023 “Born Pink” world tour, has collaborated with leading brands like Nike, Kenzo, and Budweiser. His influence extends to nurturing emerging talent in Osaka, his hometown.
"Verdy embodies the dynamic creative spirit at Patina's core. This collaboration transcends strategy – it's a cultural catalyst for the next generation of luxury travelers. Verdy's distinctive aesthetic and unique spirit reflect Patina's purpose to offer fresh and powerful perspectives,” said Cristiano Rinaldi, President, Capella Hotel Group.
Verdy shared, “When Patina Hotels & Resorts approached me, the synergy was obvious. Being steps away from Henry's Pizza, my creative hub in Osaka, this partnership feels like destiny. This creative partnership with Patina is such a natural fit. The brand’s focus on cultural elements, such as music, resonates deeply with my own journey, and I’m thrilled to build a new cultural presence together with Patina right here in this city that’s so close to my heart."
Henry’s Pizza, launched by Verdy in 2023, has become a cultural landmark in Osaka, blending food, art, and fashion. The pizzeria regularly hosts events featuring prominent figures like Mark Gonzales and Tenshin Nasukawa, further cementing Verdy’s influence in the local creative scene.
Cristiano added, “Verdy's bold perspective elevates Patina Hotels & Resorts' track record of partnerships with visionary creatives to a new dimension. By joining forces with Verdy, we are co-creating Patina Osaka as a destination that will redefine the future of transformative luxury hospitality in Japan."
The hotel’s broader programming will include rotating exhibitions, a creator-in-residence program bringing global talent to Osaka, and events celebrating the intersection of art, music, fashion, and gastronomy, all aligned with Verdy’s transformative vision.
