Range Rover Announces Partnership with The Championships, Wimbledon

Range Rover has announced its official partnership with The Championships, Wimbledon, marking the first collaboration between the world’s oldest tennis tournament and the leading luxury SUV brand.

The Championships, a quintessential British summer sporting event viewed by millions globally, will have Range Rover as its Official Vehicle Partner for 2024. This partnership signifies the transition from Jaguar to Range Rover, extending JLR's support of The Championships to over a decade.

Range Rover exemplifies breathtaking modernity, unparalleled refinement, and unmatched capability, honed over more than fifty years of evolution. The brand delivers the most luxurious SUVs to global clients, with every Range Rover available as a plug-in electric hybrid. The first fully electric Range Rover is set to be unveiled later this year.

During The Championships, a fleet of the latest Range Rover and Range Rover Sport plug-in electric hybrid models will transport players, their teams, and officials to and from official venues. These vehicles will utilize on-site charging facilities to maximize their pure electric driving range of up to 120 km.

Reducing vehicle emissions is a vital part of Wimbledon’s environmental commitment. The on-site charging infrastructure at the newly completed Indoor Tennis Centre is powered by renewable electricity and can accommodate a growing number of hybrid and electric vehicles. This aligns with the All England Club’s goal of achieving net zero operational emissions by 2030.

Geraldine Ingham, Managing Director, Range Rover saidAs an iconic British cultural event watched by millions across the world, The Championships provides the ideal opportunity for Range Rover to engage with our global clients with creative storytelling, that perfectly captures the elegance and refinement of our vehicles and the synergies between our two modern luxury brands.”

Deborah Jevans CBE, Chair of the All England Club expressed, “We are delighted to be continuing our long-standing partnership with JLR with the announcement of Range Rover as Official Vehicle Partner. I am particularly pleased with the inclusion of a significant number of lower emission plug-in hybrid vehicles in the fleet, with a focus on as many journeys as possible being delivered in EV mode. This is another step towards our goal of achieving net zero operational emissions by 2030."

The Championships will be held at The All England Lawn Tennis Club from July 1 to 14, 2024.
