This World Toilet Day, Sirona, India’s leading feminine hygiene brand, launched the #EverybodyNeedsAPeeBuddy campaign to raise awareness about the challenges women face in accessing clean public restrooms. Through a powerful digital video campaign and a collaborative initiative with IntrCity, Sirona aims to promote hygiene and empower women travelers with practical solutions.
The digital campaign sheds light on the daily struggles millions of women endure, from holding in urine to avoid unclean facilities to risking infections like UTIs due to unhygienic conditions. Sirona’s campaign emphasizes the urgent need for safer, cleaner public restrooms and aims to inspire meaningful conversations and actions to improve hygiene standards.
As part of this initiative, Sirona partnered with IntrCity to distribute its signature hygiene products to female travelers. Over a period of 5-7 days, Sirona’s PeeBuddy, India’s first female urination device with over 50 lakh units sold, and disposable toilet seat covers were distributed across IntrCity’s bus network. Additionally, gift hampers with Sirona hygiene products were provided at select IntrCity lounges, offering innovative solutions to enhance women’s travel comfort.
Anika Wadhera, Group Marketing Director, Good Glamm Group shared, “With our new digital video campaign, Sirona is bringing much-needed attention to an issue that affects millions of women daily - clean public restrooms, and driving change by making sanitation a priority in public spaces. We are thrilled to partner with IntrCity and take a step toward empowering women travelers with the tools they need to protect their hygiene and advocate for more dignified and accessible public restrooms for women in India on the move. ”
Manish Rathi, Co-founder & CEO, IntrCity SmartBus explained, “We at IntrCity are delighted to partner with Sirona for this impactful World Toilet Day initiative. Our in-bus washrooms - which have been a game changer for the adoption of buses in India - is also a testament to our commitment to redefining hygiene standards in the travel industry. Now, with this collaboration, we aim to support our passengers by providing the essential tools they need for a clean restroom experience and by promoting awareness around public sanitation. Together, we hope to create a safer, more hygienic travel environment for women across India.”
To reinforce the message, awareness posters have been placed in washrooms on 10-12 IntrCity buses, reaching an estimated 5-6 lakh passengers. These posters encourage clean restroom practices, fostering greater awareness of personal hygiene and public sanitation.
Sirona’s campaign represents a meaningful push toward improving hygiene and accessibility for women in public spaces. By collaborating with IntrCity, Sirona is not only raising awareness but also taking tangible steps to provide women with safer, more comfortable travel experiences, contributing to a healthier, more inclusive society.
