Sumanta Bose has been appointed as the Head of the Entertainment Cluster for the Reliance-Disney joint venture. In this role, he will oversee Star Plus, Star Bharat, and regional channels in Bengali, Marathi, and Gujarati.
Currently serving as the Business Head for the Hindi-speaking Market (HSM) and Content Head for Disney+ Hotstar (Hindi), Bose has more than a decade of experience in the Indian entertainment industry. He has played a pivotal role in shaping content, creating iconic characters, and driving growth for major channels and digital platforms. As the leader of this cluster, Bose will guide a team of seasoned executives across different language channels.
Among the key appointments within the cluster, Deepak Chhabria will manage the Star Plus and Star Utsav channels, while Harsh Sheth will lead the Star Bharat channel business. Koustuvi Ghosh will take charge of Star Jalsha, and Vivek Modi will oversee Colors Bangla and Bengali movie channels. Vipul Nagar will lead the Gujarati language business, and Satish Rajwade will handle the Marathi language division.
Additionally, Pratap Parimi will be responsible for analytics for the cluster and digital business planning for the Bengali, Marathi, and Gujarati (BMG) markets. Arnab Deb will manage overall business planning for the entire cluster.
Bose's extensive experience with Disney Star, during which he strengthened brands like Star Plus and led Disney+ Hotstar's Hindi content initiatives, positions him well for this crucial role within the joint venture. With his leadership, the partnership aims to optimize its reach and engagement across Hindi and regional language markets, appealing to the diverse tastes of India's entertainment audience.
