ZARA has officially launched its much-anticipated "Cutie Circus" collection, marking the second collaboration between renowned fashion stylist Harry Lambert and the global retailer. This vibrant offering invites fashion enthusiasts to step into a whimsical fantasy inspired by the joyous atmosphere of a circus.
The collection features 70 unique pieces that draw inspiration from the color palette and design elements characteristic of carnival settings. Lambert’s vision centers on evoking joy through fashion, reminiscent of experiences found at a circus, seaside boardwalks, or theme parks. "What would I love to find when thrifting right now?" Lambert pondered during the moodboarding process, ultimately drawing from the aesthetics of the Seventies era.
Lambert's meticulous research involved sifting through numerous photographs and memorabilia, including dress-up masks and circus-themed artifacts. The result is a collection infused with the spirit of "Cutie Chaos," showcasing vintage-inspired garments that remain accessible to all. Highlights include polka-dot shirts, oversized tartan outerwear, and retro zip-through Harrington jackets.
The whimsical elements are particularly evident in the silhouettes. A cropped ringmaster-style blazer, for instance, channels a playful elegance when paired with a simple tee. Trousers inspired by performer costumes feature barrel-leg designs in pastel corduroy and denim, while prints and cheeky slogans—such as "Free popcorn"—capture the essence of the circus.
Central to the collection are T-shirts that Lambert has crafted for an authentic vintage feel, achieved through thoughtful fit and a special wash. Available in stripes, bold colors, and slogan designs, these T-shirts aim to bring joy and versatility to everyday wardrobes.
The standout feature of the "Cutie Circus" collection is its bespoke prints, created in collaboration with artist Aysha Nagieva. Lambert expressed, “It was such a fun, immediate process where every idea could be developed and expanded upon.”
Nagieva shared her creative process noting, “I worked primarily in watercolors on paper when creating the illustrations, whereas in my usual practice, I mainly work in oil paint. This was essential to replicate this ‘vintage’ circus feeling yet also to make all the visuals contemporary.”
The "Cutie Circus" collection will be available online and in select ZARA stores starting September 20, inviting customers to embrace the joy and whimsy of the circus through fashion.
