Palmonas : The Story Behind Its Strategic UAE Expansion and International Growth Ambitions
Demi-fine jewelry brand Palmonas has made its mark in the Indian market. In the next phase of expansion, the demi fine jewelry brand announced its entry in the Middle East, with a long-term vision to build a scalable international business while staying rooted in Indian origins.

Demi-fine jewelry brand Palmonas has made its mark in the Indian market with its affordable, light-weight jewelry. The brand has reached over 100 retail outlets in India in just 4 years, crossing a valuation of $200 million in funding. Apart from the brand's rapid expansion in the country, the brand has soon attracted the traction of young consumers in India with not just its contemporary and affordable jewelry designs but also fandom traction gained due to its co-founder Shradha Kapoor.

In the next phase of expansion, the demi fine jewelry brand announced its entry in the Middle East in July 2026. The brand opened its first retail store in Reem Mall, Abu Dhabi, and has recently inaugurated a retail kiosk at the Mall of the Emirates, Dubai. The UAE  stood for its strong jewellery culture, diverse consumer base, and established retail ecosystem.

Talking about the brand’s strategic entry in UAE, Pallavi Mohadikar, Founder and CEO, Palmonas, said, ‘‘Our decision to enter the Middle East is driven by our ambition to build Palmonas into a globally relevant jewellery brand originating from India. We see significant potential for the brand beyond the domestic market, and the UAE was a natural starting point for our international expansion. Our long-term vision is to build a scalable international business while staying rooted in our Indian origins. Our entry into the Middle East is an important first step towards that ambition, allowing us to understand international consumers, establish a strong retail presence, and build a foundation for future global expansion.’’

Brand’s Market Evaluation & Expansion Strategy

When evaluating a new market, the brand looks at three key factors: the category’s potential, the relevance of its consumer proposition, and the ability to build a sustainable business.

‘‘Our international expansion strategy is focused on identifying markets where there is strong consumer demand for jewellery and an opportunity for Palmonas to stand out through contemporary design and accessible price points. The UAE is our priority market in the Middle East, where we are focusing on building our presence in premium shopping destinations and establishing a strong foundation for long-term growth. We also see potential to expand into other GCC markets, including Saudi Arabia, as we continue to understand consumer preferences and market opportunities,’’ says Pallavi.

Palmonas’ approach is to expand its presence in the UAE in a measured and phased manner. The focus is on building a strong brand presence, adapting to local consumer needs, and establishing a sustainable operating model before scaling further.

‘‘Ultimately, our ambition is to take Palmonas to more international markets while retaining the design sensibility and value proposition that define the brand,’’ says Pallavi.

Marketing and Communication in UAE

Palmonas aims to maintain a consistent brand identity while adapting to the consumers needs in each market.

Talking about the brand’s marketing and communication strategy in UAE, Pallavi shares, ‘‘At Palmonas, our design sensibility, product quality, brand personality, and commitment to accessible luxury remain central to who we are. ….We recognise that the Middle East has a diverse consumer base, with different preferences and purchase motivations. She adds, ‘‘Our communication strategy will reflect the nuances of a locally relevant campaigns, regional creator collaborations, and occasion led storytelling around gifting, weddings, Ramadan, and Eid.’’

The brand also sees physical retail as an important part of building brand awareness and trust. The brand’s in-store experience allows customers to discover its collections firsthand and develop a stronger connection with the brand.

Palmonas Outlook on the Middle East Market

Pallavi says, ‘‘We are not looking to replace traditional fine jewellery in the ME market, but to create an additional space within the category.’’

The Middle East has a strong cultural affinity for gold and fine jewellery, and Palmonas  sees it as an opportunity to complement this tradition with contemporary demi fine jewellery that offers greater flexibility in terms of styling, occasions, and price points.

‘‘Our focus is on positioning Palmonas as a brand that makes contemporary jewellery more accessible without compromising on design or quality. For the Middle Eastern market, we plan to curate an assortment that balances minimalist pieces for everyday styling with more expressive designs suited to regional preferences and special occasions,’’says Pallavi.

Palmonas wants its UAE customers to have a premium retail experience and product offering that reflects their needs. Alongside demi-fine jewellery, the brand also sees potential in introducing consumers to newer propositions such as 9KT gold and lab-grown diamonds, offering more accessible entry points into fine jewellery.

India v/s Middle East Market Dynamics

While India and the Middle East share a strong affinity for jewellery, consumer preferences and purchasing motivations vary across the two markets.

In India, the brand witnesses a growing interest in contemporary, design-led jewellery, particularly among younger consumers who view it as an expression of personal style. In the Middle East, traditional gold and fine jewellery continue to play an important role. Palmonas sees this an opportunity to complement the established preferences with versatile, contemporary designs for everyday styling, gifting, and special occasions.

‘‘Our strategy is to understand these differences and adapt our offerings accordingly, while maintaining Palmonas’ core brand identity,’’says Pallavi.

Another important consideration is the overall retail experience. The UAE has a diverse, internationally exposed consumer base, making product transparency, premium presentation, and customer service particularly important. Palmonas is  focused on creating a shopping experience that builds trust and helps consumers understand our products.

Beyond the Middle East

‘‘Palmonas has relevance across multiple international markets. However, we are intentionally sequencing our expansion rather than entering several geographies simultaneously,’’ emphasizes Pallavi.

Pallavi further shares that the brand’s immediate priority is to establish the UAE as a successful international operating market, proving product-market fit, developing local consumer insights, building reliable cross-border supply chains, and demonstrating attractive unit economics. As these capabilities mature,  the brand will then evaluate other markets based on category demand, consumer affinity, competitive intensity, regulatory complexity, and the investment required to establish a meaningful presence.

Over the next five to ten years, the brand will aim for international expansion, creating value across three strategic dimensions. First, building a diversified and scalable growth engine. Second, strengthening Palmonas' positioning as a global jewellery brand. Third, building capabilities that create a long-term competitive advantage.

Pallavi shares, ''We want to move beyond being perceived as an Indian brand with an overseas presence to becoming a brand that resonates with consumers across cultures. A key part of this journey will be building differentiated propositions around contemporary jewellery, including emerging categories such as 9KT gold and lab-grown diamonds. We believe there is an opportunity to introduce new consumers to accessible fine jewellery through design innovation, education, and a premium customer experience.’’

International markets provide an opportunity to access new consumer segments, expand addressable markets, and build additional revenue streams. As we build confidence in the underlying unit economics, the demi-fine jewelry brand sees the potential to expand across the GCC and, eventually, other international markets.

It will strengthen the brand’s capabilities across product development, cross-border supply chains, regulatory compliance, technology, and customer experience.

‘‘We see these investments as strategic assets that will make Palmonas more resilient, operationally disciplined, and better equipped to scale globally, '’says Pallavi. ‘‘Ultimately, our success measure will not be the number of countries we enter or stores we open, but the quality and sustainability of the business we build. We want international markets to become a meaningful contributor to both revenue and brand equity, supported by strong store economics, customer loyalty, and a consistent brand experience. Our vision is to build a jewellery brand that is proudly rooted in India, but globally relevant in its design, proposition, and ambition.’’ signs off Pallavi.
