After its global successful footprint, bigshoebazaar.com ventures into retail with a format that offers benefits of physical retail and e-commerce under one roof. Manmohan Agrawal, Director, bigshoebazar.com talks about the company’s online venture and about their future plans.


Neha Malhotra (NM): What is Bigshoebazaar.com all about? 
Manmohan Agrawal (MA):
Bigshoebazaar is a vertical focused online portal, which provides the vast range in footwear for consumers. We have over 60 brands and 8,000 designs on our online store. 

NM: Which brands have you partnered with on your website? 
MA:
We have over 40 brands with us with the likes of Woodland, Lee Cooper, Reebok, Puma, Adidas, Bata, Lotto, Carlton London, Provogue, Geox, Hitz, Homme, K-Swiss, Red Tape, Levi’s, Sparx etc. 

NM: How has the buying trend for online retailing in the downturn? On an average how many people shop on bigshoebazaar.com in a month? 
MA:
Online retailing is still at a nascent stage in the Indian market and did not have any impact of the downturn. Infact, we have seen more people shopping online to get discounts and variety. Also there was a major trend in smaller cities, to travel to nearby bigger cities to buy brands and for a better choice. Now with the setting in of the downturn, people are not travelling that much and prefer shop online. What they need is variety, customer service and confidence of shopping online. We are going to bring this with close integration with our offline stores to provide seamless customer experience. For e.g. a customer who has bought a shoe online and wants to exchange it, he can do so at our offline stores and vice versa. We also have shopping kiosks in our stores. For a customer who walks into our stores and doesn’t get products as per his liking, he can always see the online store through the kiosk, buy it from the store and get the products delivered to his home directly.

Customers all over the world shop from Bigshoebazaar.com. So far, BSB has shipped goods to over 1,000 cities.

NM: Bigshoebazaar.com recently forayed into retail with its unique model. Can you brief us about this venture? 
MA:
Bigshoebazaar.com’s multi-branded retail outlets will not only have a huge collection under its roof, but will virtually have shoes from all over the world. Our unique retail model offers vast choices to customer on one hand and helps the industry clear its inventory fast. Thus it’s a win-win model for all stakeholders. We are confident that this model will be successful and become a benchmark for the industry.

NM: what are the unique features in these stores?
MA:
The stores feature a shopping kiosk where customers can choose from online products (not available in stores), pay at the store and get the products shipped directly to customer.

 

NM: Are their any discounts available for customers shopping on bigshoebazaar.com? 
MA:
Our customers can avail lot of discounts on our website. We are working with our suppliers to offer more discounts for online products.
