Prabhuraj Anjanappa is a premium online portal dealing mainly in uniforms, shoes and accessories. It is aiming to provide value for money and quality products to its buyers.

How was Illume started and the brands it deal in?

Lotus Inc., our parent company, was started in 1999. We are a well-equipped garment manufacturer, with latest technology, finest designers, pattern makers and skilled workers. Premium fabrics, impeccable craftsmanship are the basics. Illume promises uncompromising standards of comfort, durability and quality. We are constantly aiming to combine functionality and performance with a contemporary design.

We are the premier providers of uniforms, shoes and accessories for schools, institutions and corporates for more than a decade. We are well positioned to offer the benefit of our expertise in the Indian market. Our aim is to provide our clients with the highest quality product and service at a competitive price. The brand ‘Illume’ was our brainchild.

The Illume school shoes were launched after understanding the know-how of shoes; suiting the requirement of the present generation kids and the activities involved in the school curriculum. The shoes are ergonomically designed by using skin-friendly material, breath-ability to avoid sweating and skin infections, light-weight to give a comfortable snug fit during outdoor activities.

What distribution pattern the brand follow? What are your strategies to scale up the same?

We follow the business-to-customer distribution pattern. Uniforms and shoes are distributed directly from the company-owned warehouse to schools, hospitals, and industries. The company aims to give maximum benefit to the end-user and is in the process of appointing distributors for its pan-India distribution service.

The key leanings you have gathered so far…

Our aim is to provide quality uniform, shoes and accessories with service to match. We understand the buyers’ concern for quality product and value for money. We believe in this by providing our customers quality products at a competitive price.

Who are your current clientele?

Some of our present clientele are prestigious group of institutions like Avin International, Carmel High School, Daffodils, Global academy for learning, KLE Group, Navkis, New Horizon Group, PSBB Group.

How are you planning to expand the category?

We believe in innovation; creating a right ambience that nurtures talent, creativity and excellence. At present, we are retailing uniforms, shoes, and accessories. We are also planning to come up with sports gears and lifestyle products in the future. Through regular staff training programmes, technology updates, participation in seminars, and trade shows, we ensure that our staffs are well tuned with the present market trends. The strong HR policies and a 360- degree feedback process ensure that the team is in perfect shape to deliver customer delight.

The major challenges you face in this domain…

The big challenge is the amount of unorganized players in this segment. We respect these players, but believe in competition with our standards. We are placing our self in par with international brands, which are in the industry for decades. We are a well-known premier brand in uniforms, but a new player in the shoe segment, proving with the best and equivalent brand in comparison with international brands is a biggest challenge, which is only time tested.

What are your growth plans?

Our growth plans are to identify the key customers, to build the trust with them, and invest in talent. We are also planning to expand our business overseas  by providing global customer  with quality product and value for money. And enhancing our own e-commerce sales through our portal
