Turner India's licensing and merchandising arm, Cartoon Network, is aiming for a double digit growth this year as it partners with some of the biggest brands including Perfetti, Myntra, Unilever, Mondelez and Kellogg's. Gearing up to re-launch Ben 10 and Powerpuff Girls, the entertainment mogul has also joined hands with conglomerate Future Group to tap a major pie of the market, revealed Anand Singh, Director – South Asia, Cartoon Network Enterprise.

Talk to us about the latest deal with Action shoes.
We have signed a deal for PPG with Action shoes which are one of the biggest footwear manufacturers in India. We are actually looking forward for this deal in India because the kind of scale they (Action) have in India, they will do justice to the property and will take it across retail channels.

You are re-launching Powerpuff Girls and Ben 10. What are the strategies for the same?
We are launching the new Ben 10 to in the month of October and are gearing up for the back to school season 2017. Also, we will be launching complete back to school range for PPG next year. We have signed couple of exciting deals for PPG – for instance a deal with Myntra for PPG young adult line. The kind of experience we have with this property is that of its audiences – the girls from 90’s, are now grown up. So, this range will cater to all girls and ladies who have grown up watching PPG. Under Myntra’s umbrella brand of Kook n Keech, we have launched Suicide Squad apparel range as well for the movie.

What made you choose Myntra for this crucial deal?
Myntra is one of the eRetailers who is quite sorted in terms of their focus towards fashion, which also is key segment for us as an audience. Their design sensibilities are great, which is clearly evident through the Suicide Squad collection. As of now we have started with apparel, but would be looking for other categories as well.

What is new on the brick-and-mortar front?
We are not looking for our own physical stores; however, we have signed a Direct-to-Retail deal with Future Group that will take us across all formats of the conglomerate. And, this is a multi-product deal which means that Future group will be doing multiple deals within categories, right from apparel to merchandise and home furnishing etc. This is going to be an exciting deal because through this deal, Future Group will control the wide array of all formats. Soon we are coming up with WB range of products with Future group.
