"We want to raise standards all across''
In 2015, we are focusing on setting new standards in the industry. I have been running the business since the last nine years and I believe we have always set new standards, but in 2015, we are focusing to surprise our customers with quality products across all channels.
Our one focus would be to open stores in new towns and also enable eCommerce. On these fronts, we have recently launched a new store in Colombo, Sri Lanka. As we go online this year, our policy would be to have a consistent look and feel across channels. We would also not want to give any discounts on the online channel.
I’m also very excited about the recent tie up with Rafael Nadal. He is the brand ambassador and we are looking forward to the campaign we are doing with him as we would be leading our Spring Summer 2015 look.
For the industry at large, I am looking forward for GST, interest regulations to settle the market volatility.
These changes would kick-start the consumption in the coming year, and I think 2015 would see more momentum in consumption graph in India and that should be extremely good for retail.
Store expansion
We have reached 50 cities in 2014 and have more than a 190 POS running. Our store growth would be ambitious this year also, and we will open same number or more stores than last year.
We have also recently launched two stores called ‘Tommy Hilfiger Denim’ in North India this year.
Beginning with Ambience mall in New Delhi and Silver Arc in Ludhiana, we are testing with the concept of Hilfiger Denim. Hilfiger Denim is a new sub-brand of Tommy; it is launched with the younger ‘denim’ish’ attitude. The stores are high-quality stores with great layouts. I am sure we will ramp up this concept too, in the near future.
