Soon we are coming up with 20-22 service centers: Deepak Kabu

Bringing Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput on board as its brand ambassador, Ziox Mobiles is aggressively planning to expand its number of retail touch points, activations and revenue. It is on the verge of opening around 20-22 service centers as post sales support for Ziox Mobiles through franchising. Further the company is also venturing into consumer durable and consumer electronics goods to expand its product portfolio. Hence while eyeing to earn Rs 300 cr in revenue by 2018, it is targeting to have 10 percent of its business coming through eCommerce in future. Thus, talking about the future targets of the brand Deepak Kabu, CEO, Ziox Mobiles spoke to Indianretailer.com during the occasion of announcement of bringing Sushant on board in Mumbai.

How are you leveraging on the image of Sushant Singh Rajput for promoting Ziox Mobiles?
He is a young upcoming hero, who’s doing well and has done good movies, his future seems bright and I feel same about the Ziox brand also. It’s a young dynamic brand started a year and half back and growing fast. His image is representing Ziox Mobiles as youth oriented. What Indian youth wants is budget conscious product, so we are offering the dual camera phone at a reasonable price.

We started ATL campaigning once we placed in 750 distributors and 40K retailer touch points. If I had planned ATL before, it was of no use, because if the consumer goes to the retail and doesn’t find Ziox Mobiles then money is wasted. So, this is the opportune time that Sushant came to the picture, we got him, he joined our family and we came up with these phones.

With Sushant on board what is the number of activations that you have targeted?
Till date we are selling 4.5 to 5 lakh mobiles and activations are also happening at almost the same rate. The more activations happen, more business we do. We are looking for 10 mn activations by 2018. The vision is clear that we should not ditch anyone or offer wrong service to the consumer or distributor.

How many retail touch points have you reached and what are your future expansion plans?
We have reached around 40K retail touch points. We also have ventured into consumer durables and consumer electronics goods, so with the diversification of product portfolio we may come up with our own stores in the future. You never know what diversification can happen in your business.

Very soon we are planning to come up with 20-22 service centers as post sales support for Ziox Mobiles thorough franchising across metros to tier II towns, at districts to tehsil level across the country.

Going forwards where do you see the potential market for Ziox?
The market for us is everywhere. There are certain places which are contributing most to our business namely Karnataka in South, Maharashtra and Gujarat in West and UP and Rajasthan in North. We are doing good investment in North-East also.

What are your current revenue and the market share?
Currently our turnover is of Rs 70cr and we are planning to achieve Rs 300cr by 2018. Our current market share is of 2.5 percent and we are targeting 6-7 percent market share by 2018.

What is your eCommerce presence?
We have already tied up with Flipkart, Snapdeal, Amazon, Shopclues and also selling through Homeshop 18, Shop CJ and Naaptol. In future, eCommerce should contribute around 10 percent of our total busines.
