The peanut butter market is one of the most budding markets in India recently. With major international players already existing in the Indian market, we have recently seen a rise in Made in India peanut butter brands like Alpino Health Foods, Sundrop, Skippy and Pintola, to name a few. Peanut Butter has been a staple food of America for centuries now but has been accepted by the Indian culture only in the recent few years. Alpino Health Foods which is a brain child of six entrepreneurs is an emerging brand in this segment. In an exclusive conversation with Chetan Kanani who is one of the cofounders shares more information of the brand.

What inspired you to launch Alpino Health Foods? What were your initial challenges and how did you overcome those?

The Major idea was to start an Export Entity, but after researching about it in the Indian market, we have witnessed a lot of undeveloped market in this product category. Hence, we started exploring the Indian market and developing it.

What is your assessment about growth in  peanut butter segment considering overall FMCG market in India. According to you, what are the factors propelling growth in this segment?

Peanut Butter is highly popular as a healthy breakfast alternative because of its health benefits. People are incorporating Peanut Butter in their daily routine eating habits due to which the market is growing aggressively. People are consuming Peanut Butter in their sandwiches, smoothies, and desserts. It doesn’t compromise on the taste and gives you a feeling of satiety for a long time. Therefore, it is effectively replacing the oily and unhealthy breakfast meals we were familiar with.

Kindly tell us about the current distribution of Alpino Health. Going forward, what are the plans to scale-up the distribution?

Alpino is Available in Tier 1 Cities Across North India naming a few Delhi, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Chandigarh, Faridabad, Jammu, Noida, etc.

- Tier 1-2 Cities Across South India naming a few Bangalore, Chennai, Kochi, Hyderabad, etc.

- Apart from that Mumbai, A'Bad, Nashik, Raipur, Bihar, Surat, etc.

All our products are available on our website as well on all major e-commerce giants such as Amazon, Flipkart, Big Basket, HealthKart, Indiamart, Reliance, and PayTm.

Have you raised any sorts of funds so far or plan to?

We are in talks with Investors to provide the required Funds to Make a Strong Goodwill in the Market.

Who do you see as your competition?

Our Major competitors are Sundrop, Funfoods, Pintola, My fitness, etc.

At last, kindly highlight your growth plans?

Future Growth of this category is very huge, so we are expecting a lot of International Companies to enter the Indian Market to give us tough competition. We are in talks with Investors to provide the required Funds to Make a Strong Goodwill in the Market.  We are also planning to open modern trade market in FY 20-21
