Seema Seth (SS): Kindly tell us about the offers for CWG Athletes?

Abhijit Das (AD): The promotion for the Common Wealth Games will be held at the departure area. The promotion entitles all medal winning athletes to avail 20 per cent discount and all other participating athletes to avail 10 per cent discount on every purchase.

 

SS: Since the games are almost over, did you achieve your target?

AD: Yes, we have been receiving response from day 1 of the promotion (4th oct 2010). The athletes and medalist are overwhelmed with this gesture and surprised by this promotion as they never expected this offer to be available at International airport.  

 

SS: What are the schemes for others apart from the ones for the athletes?

AD: Other than the CWG offers, Delhi duty free is doing lot of promotions with various brands like buy 2 Chivas bottle and get a chance to drive home your dream car-Beetle, recently done Harley Davidson bike draw, spend 65$ and above and get a chance to win luxury train tickets of palace on wheels, and ongoing various other exciting promos- get a poker set free with 2 bottles of Jim Beam, Get Roulette set free with Sauza Tequila , Travel Pouch with CK Free, Travel Bag with Versace perfumes  and many more offers & discount for the customers.

 

SS: Tell us about your retail outlets?

AD: Delhi Duty Free Services Pvt. Ltd. (DDFS) is a joint venture company between DIAL (Delhi International Airport Limited), IDFS (Indian Duty Free Services) and ARI (Aer Rianta International).  The company was awarded the concession to manage and operate the Duty Free Shops at Terminal 3, Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.

 

I will give an AN OVERVIEW OF OUR SHOP, where in the DEPARTURES comprises of International departure a shop is divided in to two areas by a main central walkway.

 

We have Liquor Tobacco & Confectionery Category selection expected of a world class duty free, focusing on unique concepts and exclusives. Uisge Beatha (Gaelic for “water of life”). In Wines & Champagnes category,  a superb collection of both locally produced and international wines will be represented within the shop and subsequently extended to other areas as the category grows.

 

A walk-in Humidor has been incorporated into both our departures and arrivals store forming excellent environment in which to select the finest premium cigars.We are proud to have a fine selection of Indian Teas from SANCHA headed by Mr. Sanjay Kapur (Master tea taster) whose teas are the preferred choice of the India’s elite and dignitaries, presented in a dedicated “destination” area and offering a unique collection of Gourmet teas and accessories. The destination area “Discover India” will focus on a balanced mixture product from teas, (see specialty teas) gifts, foods, spices and all the wonderful flavors that India has to offer. We work closely with suppliers to bring a real sense of place to “Discover India” offer. Tasting andu interactive selling techniques will add a unique local feel to the area.

 

Specialty Fashion area at Departure are DDFS that will introduce a range of Fashion and accessories within modern and spacious 280m² environments presenting a complete range from Hugo Boss, Mont Blanc, Samsonite Black, Swarovski and MCM.

 

DDFS have and will continue to work hard to ensure continuity in supply, range and service upon arrival. Customers will soon realize that products are consistently available at the right price (internationally benchmarked) upon Arrival at Delhi, and that the need to shop at their place of origin or make a detour to shop is no longer necessary, as they may shop with confidence upon their arrival. The product range will consist of the core range (867m²) but will be further enhanced by 418m² of premium products including P & C, Uisge Beatha (malt whisky), Premium Spirits, Confectionery and a walk in Humidor. Further, exclusive promotions will be ongoing with the support of our partners together with an in-house marketing campaign.

 

For the convenience of the passengers Last Minute Pier Shop offers a selection of the top sellers in liquor, tobacco, confectionery, perfumes and cosmetics.
