In addition, the exclusive partnerships with GNC Live Well, the world’s largest nutrition and health supplements company, and Yves Rocher, the world’s largest natural beauty company, have brought outstanding products into Guardian’s stores for its customers.

 

Marketing initiatives

The company publishes highly successful Guardian Health Chronicle, a four-page broadsheet   newspaper in English and Hindi, which has a circulation in excess of 300,000 copies, which has been a major brand builder for its chain of pharmacies. In addition, Guardian does a lot of “below the line” activities with residents’ welfare associations to educate its customers on various matters of health and wellness.

The Challenges overcome

As a small format retailer, Guardian has faced challenges that are similar to any retail company, which are primarily related to supply chain efficiencies and staff training. Over the past few years Guardian has been making significant investments in both these areas, and results can be seen in the stores.

 

Expansion plan

Guardian is constantly expanding and is adding on an average of one new store every week. From a current presence in 26 cities in 7 states, it expects to be a nationwide retailer in the next three years.
