Retailer: Please share how you ensure the success of Inorbit Malls?
Kishore Bhatija (KB): At Inorbit, we believe that our malls are community centers where consumers engage in various activities,
including shopping. And, we have introduced several initiatives as part of that strategy to effectively engage with our patrons.
We host several social activities like workshops; for rainwater harvesting and selfdefense for women, coupled with cooking
classes by celebrity chefs. Apart from that, LIVE at Inorbit is another initiative which helps young bands and stand- up artists to
display their talent to a broader audience at our mall.
And, the strong feedback received encouraged us to introduce Bodh, a school contact program where children can gain elementary understanding of technical aspects, energy conservation and best practices at malls from experts.
Retailer: Kindly throw light on your retail expansion plans?
KB: Over the past five years, we have operationalised one mall each year and our project at Vadodara would welcome consumers from July ’13. We are also focusing on consolidation and review of our operations, to maximise our performance for the long-term.
